The countdown has begun

The countdown has begun, not to Christmas but to my birthday. I have never looked forward to a birthday with so much joy, apprehension, dread, and happiness as I look forward to my next birthday. On December 24, 2011 I will be 65 years old or should I say young.

On December 1, 2011, my Medicare kicks in. I, who have not had health insurance for at least ten years, can go to a doctor without where the money for the doctor’s bill is coming from. I will have co-pays, but the co-pay is easier to raise then the entire bill. True there are certain things Medicare does cover such as a dentist, hearing aid, and glasses.

I have dentures, so I am not worried about a dentist. As for hearing aid, I am not ready for one yet. The glasses may present a bigger problem and I need to plan to see an eye doctor in a couple of months. I have to plan for the glasses, so I need to check the prices of the different places in Las Vegas.

The first thing I need to talk to my new doctor about is my psoriasis. The topical prescription I am using is not working very well. I need to find something that works better. I guess I better call my new doctor and make an appointment.
