Enga mellom fjella: where from across the meadow, poems sing from mountains and molehills.

On a clear day one can see beyond WalMart.
Yesterday was flaky, but the storm did not materialize. I went to WalMart with my list, found black socks and black underwear (my inner me travels in black) and fluffy bath-robes (sleeping robes... whatever...) and bought two white ones as gifts (because I didn't see any in red). My list is getting shorter and although there are things to do what's left undone won't matter much or will have to wait until I get there or until I get back.

It seems so simple.

But for those of us prone to panic attacks it's not easy. I did call Continental and apparently I can check in my luggage direct to Costa Rica and not pay... Otherwise I'm faced with $25/$50 just for one piece. Expensive clothes and robes... *Rolleyes* The web-site isn't clear and I've been fooled before because logic isn't universal. We'll see. I'll pack one small carry-on and pack a backpack carry-on. That should suffice.

Why so much or so little? I'd prefer less. But I don't want to spend my time in Costa Rica shopping. I don't like shopping much. And, I'll be there for three months, most of it in one place, so it's kinda like living there. The backpack will come in handy when I travel around the country, but I won't be traveling every week. I hope.

And anyone who has seen how I can stuff a backpack... well, let's just say, I'm gonna try to not pack it that tight... or heavy.

Did manage to send lace to my mother this week. Yep. The lace I bought in Nottingham and York. I've only been back three months. And I called Gare yesterday and remembered to wish my friend Kevin happy birthday today. These are small victories. Believe me.

When over-stressed, nothing is simple.

Like ...I found my passport without problem last night (lucky me). Dawned on me it wasn't in my packing-pile. Now it is! *Laugh*

Maybe I should just have a small carry-on and fly stand-by. That would be an entirely different experience!

Should I plan Norway next May? Or just go. Show up at Anna Lisa's door in Sweden and yell out "honey I'm home" in Skånske of course... And home it would be. My roots are Swedish. Is my insanity?

Well today is clear and sunny. And I can see far far beyond WalMart.

Peace, Kåre.
