10:00AM Explain something or someone that you feel is widely misunderstood. In various Zombie films and games, one often sees the hero using a heavy machine gun or a power tool, such as an M2 Browning- .50 caliber, or a chainsaw, mowing down wave after wave of the undead. Well let me tell you this, during the real thing, those won't be very useful, except in limited situations. For one thing, there is the Fuel/Ammo issue. Power tools require gas/batteries/electricity to work, and those will be scarce in a zed-filled world. Certain machine guns will require specific rounds in order to work, which might be hard to find. Another issue is weight- without fuel, many chainsaws weigh 10lb, and many light machine guns weigh around 20lb, and that's without ammunition. Another issue is noise, zombies have good hearing- firing up a chainsaw is like ringing the dinner bell for them, and bandits will hear you firing, and will want that machine gun for themselves. Finally, there's user experience- unless you have logging experience, a chainsaw can be tricky to use, and unless you've been in the military, or some other such group that uses machine guns on a daily basis, you'll just waste ammo. You'd be better off with a .30-06 hunting rifle and a crowbar for zombie combat. 9:00PM Did some reviewing. Sent in my prompt for the blogging contest- I'll do up my entry tomorrow. I think my computer might be working again- though I'm not sure. Proud founder and member of the following group. May others join this fantastic group.
