Puerto Jimenez
is a long boring ride.

Me:

I got up by 05:05, got on the bus by 06:30, arrived in PJ at 12:30. A bad-ass boring loooong ride of 6 hours. The first three hours to Palmar is a slow colectivo and the road between Chacarita and Rincon is a disaster. But Alberth and I got here.

Couldn't find Fanny Lu. Looked everywhere and asked around. We ended up in Cabinas El Corner instead. Costs $12/person/night. Not sure anyone else is here tonight. I't's off-season.

Ate at Cafe Mocha. No gallo pinto so we had a casado instead. They had chicken, beef and cops on the menu. I asked about fish ...we had congrio! *Smile* Young cook knew what he was doing. That and coffee was $6.20 each.

I mention the prices as it's cheaper in a market town like Perez Zeledon than in a beach-tourist town like Port Jimmy (as it is also called).

We walked around the beach and took photos. We missed the "Pirates Cove" and the crocodiles but maybe tomorrow... We eventually wandered over to the other side of town and found the other places we were looking for. Met Fritz-the-cat who is a scarred marmalade fighter and very friendly. Chatted with the Italian (Milan) owner. And across the street? Fanny! We spoke with her too and even looked at rooms at Hospedaje Fanny Lu. They cost $8/person/night. Plus there's a kitchen.

Back "home" I asked whether they had wireless. They do! Bingo. A blog entry. *Bigsmile*
