Another plate full of the meat and vegetables of my life. |
So, Andy Murray didn't win the Wimbledon Championships and I cast aside any suspicions of match fixing. I enjoyed the match on television in between rain breaks and playing with grand monsters. Murray played some excellent tennis, gave it everything he'd got, didn't whine, showed great respect for his opponent Federer and was very gracious in defeat. When a player shows emotion as he did at the end, it makes them human and vulnerable and more likeable. So, I'll admit maybe I was too harsh on him and maybe he'll grow on me, albeit slowly. But that's it for another year and post Wimbledon doom and gloom day has arrived. Grey skies, cool temperatures and probably yet more rain accompany it. I forgot to mention the insurance company were absolutely brilliant about my deceased iPhone and I had a new one up and running by the time we left for Wimbledon. When I first visited in 1985 I took photos of Boris Becker on court with a great clonking camera. He looks like a tiny ant on the grass. Amazing how one tiny device these days can produce such photos as these although I admit I'm still an amateur and still learning. |
