Firelizards ...color me green.

Growing up I remember being fascinated by:

Black Beauty
Black Stallion
My Friend Flicka

Not to forget Dale Evans and Roy Rogers.

I probably would've chosen a horse as a pet.

But I'm not 10 anymore and horses are ...horses and I don't understand them. My dad would've been good with a horse, but then he would've been good with any animal real or fictional.

I'm a cat person, so any fictional cat would do. They're all unique and so-much-like-me. I don't do canine no more than any self-respecting cat does. I do like dogs ...but as a pet? Too needy.

I'm not much of a fish or bird person. Lizards do not excite me. A phoenix would be nice. Could rescue me when I've messed up!

I think the mini-dragons (firelizards) of Pern would be nice. One of each color would be enough to drive me nutters. They'd better not be too needy though...

If I would've been a young boy of Pern chosen by a dragon it would probably have been green (or white like J'xom's Ruth) as I would've been bullied out of a bronze or brown and green is more my color than blue.

The bonding sounds freaky, but one can get used to most anything...
