Ghanian poets
I've read some poems from Ghanian poets (from before 1959).

"Afram" by Andrew Amankwa Opoku takes me places. The repetition of the line "River. I am passing." and the rhythm of the lines mesmerizes.

"It's ritual murder" by Lionel Kwaw Idan tells it from the viewpoint of two hens, two turkeys, two sheep. Definitely for vegetarians.

"American Heaven" by Francis Errnest Kobina Parkes invites the reader in to the sound of drums and dancing.

Marvelous, magnificent writing.

And I can breathe better since the smoke has lightened. Not gone yet... but...
