Mac and Cheese

If I never visit your home
how could I know you.
Staying in a hotel,
living alone,
I'd have no clue
what is you,
what matters,
In this every day stew
what makes you special,
not just another morning of blue sky
or a season of rain.
How to describe your joy
if I don't know your pain.
I'd make notes of the moments
you don't even notice,
watch you cook macaroni
then mix in the orange cheese.
What would this mean?
I should ask.
I could ask,
but without a forkful to bite
what would I taste,
and without your spice
would it matter.
