My hidden animal


If I had the wings of an eagle
I could fly
high above the earth
and float on warm air currents
free
to go beyond national boundaries
and leave my pass port
behind.

If I had kangaroo legs
I could jump
over broken cement
or across busy intersections
without fear
of getting hurt
or worrying about a red light.
