Caught some sun...
...in Zarcero.

me:

Ciudad Quesada is a misty moisty place. Very green. An Irishman would feel at home here on a soft day with afternoon rainbows. (Like yesterday.)

But, I wanted some sun. Plus I figured the church would be open on Sundays... *Rolleyes* So off I went to Zarcero.

The inside of the church is magnificent! The topiary gardens have been tidied up. It was the day of the Christmas fair. (Who knew!) Activities for the children; music; food; artisans. Lovely!

I felt very blessed. Like the time Mavis, Nick and I showed up in Eyam on the day of a festival. That was serendipitous too.

It was ¢1.000 one-way on the bus (about $4 round-trip; one hour each way) and of course I had to eat (but I would've spent money anyways...) two traditional tamales with pork, a coffee, two salty cheese pastries.

Took about 100 photos today.

Already posted some. *Smirk*

A cheap day. Ciudad Quesada (San Carlos) is great as a place to stay with side trips. La Fortuna is good for that too (except food is expensive and very touristy). I may end up here one or two more days ...just because.

Humbug and the Old Year's funeral are coming up. Translation = I need to figure out where I'll be. Transportation can be iffy around holidays. Hotels can be lonely... a hostel may be better as may be a beach or large city. So much to consider ...some other day.
