Serial Experience – Part Two: The Microwave Glass Turntable
The March 30, 2013 prompt for "30-Day Blogging Challenge ON HIATUS is
Serial Experience – Part Two: Recall a short anecdote from your daily life this past month.
It can have a moral or not, be humorous or mundane, it doesn’t matter. On the first day (yesterday), write the story from your point of view.
On the second day (today), write the story from the perspective of an inanimate object or animal which was present in the previous entry.

Here I rest in a blue recyclable bin,
waiting to be of use again;
a glass turntable without a working microwave
is as useful as a water barrel missing a stave.

I am waiting for someone to take me in
out of this freezing recyclable bin,
I want someone to reuse me
as a tray to hold crackers and brie.

After my microwave oven died,
I set on a table and sparkled with pride,
Knowing that somehow I would be reused,
Resting in this blue bin I feel abused.

Thought of the Day: "Recycling is a good thing to do. It makes people feel good to do it. The thing I want to emphasize is the vast difference between recycling for the purpose of feeling good and recycling for the purpose of solving the trash problem." -- Barry Commoner
