Dinner with my Father
The April 9, 2013 prompt for "30-Day Blogging Challenge ON HIATUS is
You've been given the opportunity to have dinner with anyone-I mean ANYONE (alive or dead)--Who do you eat with?
Where do you eat at? How does dinner go? What kinds of questions do you ask? If your imagination allows, please write the dinner transcript.

I would have dinner with my father. I was young when my parents divorced, so my memories of my father are sketchy at best. I didn't know he was dead until I read his obit online (that was a shocker). I never had a chance to say "I love you, Daddy." I would have liked to say that to him before he died or at least attended his funeral.

I would fix Spanish rice using my own recipe. We would have green salad, coffee, and chocolate cake for desert unless my father wanted some other type of desert. I would tell him how much I loved him. I would tell him about my life and dreams. Dad and I would catch up on the events that happened in our lives. I would tell him that the only thing that matter was our dinner together. Then last I would ask him to introduce me to my half-sister.

Daddy,
I miss you,
I love you,
I forgive you;
Please forgive me
for not finding you before
you died.

Food for thought: "Never forget the three powerful resources you always have available to you: love, prayer, and forgiveness." - H. Jackson Brown, Jr.
