Reading and War Chest Wednesday: Before It's Too Late
The May 8, 2013 prompt "30-Day Blogging Challenge ON HIATUS is
What are five things you want to see or do before it's too late?

Before it's too late,
before my bones lay in a Garden of Stone,
before my body decomposes,
and my atoms return to the dust of the Earth...

I want to visit Mount Carmel
in Haifa, Israel;

I want to pay off all my debts;

I want to visit
the Baha'i House of Worship
in New Delhi, India;

I want to complete
at least one of my novels;

I want to visit
the Baha'i House of Worship
in Wilmette, Illinois.

The May 8, 2013 prompt for "Blogging Circle of Friends Prompt Forum is
Tell us about a book you can read again and again without getting bored — what is it that speaks to you?

One of the books I can read over and over without becoming bored is The Hidden Words of Bahá'u'lláh translated by Shoghi Effendi. This 52 page book contains an introduction plus two sections of scriptures. The first section of scriptures is from the Arabic and the section is from the Persian. The reason I can red this book without getting bored is that each nugget of scripture is a short verse that I can read and the meditate on or I can read the entire book in on setting if I chose. I can put the book in my purse and carry it with me so that I have something to read while I am waiting to see my doctor.

Another reason I like to read this book over and over is that each nugget of scripture emphasized the love of God for humanity. I can also find advice for daily living in these nuggets. One of my favorite scripture nuggets is
O Son of Being!
Bring thyself to account each day ere though art summoned to a reckoning; for death, unheralded, shall come upon thee and thou shalt be called to give an account for thy deeds.
Bahá'u'lláh,
The Hidden Words of Bahá'u'lláh,
Part 1. - From the Arabic, #31, page 11
