Asking For Help
Today's blog....

Blog City – Day 47 – April 19

Prompt: What types of things do you avoid asking for help with?
I am not a big one for asking for help - I will often struggle along and try to accomplish everything myself - besides I like how I do things. Asking someone else to help requires me to be open to somebody doing something their way - and that may not jive with my way. It is times like that that I wonder if I have some autistic tendencies of my own. Sometimes I will even go around and 'fix' things others have done to have them done 'my' way. This has more to do with mundane household tasks and my personal life.
Now that being said, I must admit that there are times when getting help, whether I have asked or they have volunteered, can be an ease. I am filled with gratitude that someone has come around and walked along with me. Helped me, added in their view and broadened mine. I do try to stay open to things - learning from others. In my teaching career I am more prone to reach out for help - I know that I can learn to be a better teacher by collaborating with others. Most schools encourage this.
