The Quotes of My Life
June 24, 2014 "30-Day Blogging Challenge ON HIATUS Open prompt
"Welcome To My Reality Forum Week 27 (June 23-June 29, 2014) Prompt #7: Visit http://www.brainyquote.com/quotes/topics/topic_motivational.html or think of a quote you already know. What quote(s) resonate with you? What quotes inspire you? What quote so you like, that you have never heard before to share with us.

What quotes resonate with me? The quotes (in order of priority) that resonate with me are spiritual, writing, and motivational quotes. I am especially fond of quotes from the Baha'i sacred scriptures because I can usually find one that applies every event in my life and covers two or three of the subjects that appeals to me on a spiritual and emotional level.

If a quote does not speak to my soul,
what is the use of memorizing it.

What quotes inspire me? Any quote (no matter what the subject or the theme) can inspire me. One writing quote I find especially inspiring is by Annis Nin "If you do not breathe through writing, if you do not cry out in writing, or sing in writing, then don't write, because our culture has no use for it." The reason I like this quote is that it speaks to body my soul and mind, while covering all three of the theme that resonate with me.

If quote does not empower me write,
what is the use of meditating upon it.

What quote do I like, that I would like to share. There are a two quotes that I wold like to share about poetry and the arts, which have a special meaning to me.

"Treasures lie hidden beneath the throne of God; the key to those treasures is the tongue of poets."
The Báb, quoted in The Dawnbreakers1

"All Art is a gift of the Holy Spirit. When this light shines through the mind of a musician, it manifests itself in beautiful harmonies. Again, shining through the mind of a poet, it is seen in fine poetry and poetic prose. When the Light of the Sun of Truth inspires the mind of a painter, he produces marvellous pictures. These gifts are fulfilling their highest purpose, when showing forth the praise of God." - 'Abdu'l-Bahá, quoted in The Chosen Highway2
