You are what you write. Illusion and Reality...I reside in between. Where are you? |
Blog City Prompt: I'm going to toss three titles out there for you to choose from to create your own masterpiece.. whether it be a short story, commentary or poem... Can you weave a work of art using all three titles into one? I can't wait to see where your imagination takes you. There's a bonus/surprise if you can name the authors as well. "The Jar With the Dry Rim", "The Pope's Penis", and "The Days Run Away Like Wild Horses Over the Hills. Just had time to do the research. Interesting stuff. This is more than a one-day project. The Jar With the Dry Rim Like this one a lot. The mind is an ocean... I and so many worlds are rolling there, mysterious, dimly seen! And our bodies? Our body is a cup, floating on the ocean; soon it will fill, and sink... Not one bubble will show where it went down. The spirit is so near that you can't see it! But reach for it... don't be a jar full of water, whose rim is always dry. Don't be the rider who gallops all night and never sees the horse that is beneath him. - Jelaluddin Rumi (1207-1273) The Pope's Penis Well, it has shock value for sure. It hangs deep in his robes, a delicate clapper at the center of a bell. It moves when he moves, a ghostly fish in a halo of silver sweaweed, the hair swaying in the dark and the heat -- and at night while his eyes sleep, it stands up in praise of God. - Sharon Olds The Days Run Away Like Wild Horses Over the Hills “I've found out why men sign their names to their works- not that they created them but more than the others did not.” ― Charles Bukowski, The Days Run Away Like Wild Horses Over the Hills This is the title of a very big collection of poetry. Read with care...>>>iggy |
