You are what you write. Illusion and Reality...I reside in between. Where are you?

MIND – THOUGHT - BRAIN
Blog City image smallThe Mind and Thought and the Brain
(Something to think about)

What exists INSIDE you (self) is not what exists OUTSIDE you (self). Think about it… What you receive from  OUTSIDE are reflected light off all physical objects or direct light from sun or artificial. The eyes are receptors of light waves. Our brain translates (correctly or not) what those light waves mean.

Similarly out ears receive sound waves, vibrations from OUTSIDE, and also from within our physical body; usually the movement of air or fluids.
Our skin receives signals of temperature and touch or contact with other physical elements, including our own body. Hands and feet and genitals are even more sensitive.

Our nose and mouth sense temperature, air and liquids even more than skin plus taste.

Add motion related to gravity, balance, coordination, kinetic responses.

ALL of this is a constant occurrence that begins at conception and ends with death. And how much existed within the egg, sperm, DNA. How deep does it go for YOUR ENTITY?  Energy can be transformed but it cannot be destroyed. That’s a discussion about reincarnation that is another thread.

Our brain feeds our mind with all of this ALL OF THE TIME but we are usually not aware of any of the unbelievable complexities that are part of the state of being alive. If we CONSCIOUSLY  focus on any of these sensors we instantly have  complete aware feedback. But try to keep it all in your conscious awareness AT THE SAME TIME and you will fail.

Then comes a higher level that is instinctual such as sex drive, parenting, hunger, survival. Some is shaped by experience, some seems to be inherited like skills and talent.

More conscious levels include language(s), physical skills, and social behaviors. Still ALL determined by how the brain receives those light and sound waves and translates them into meaning.  If you focus on any one outside source you can override brain decisions and make a new or corrected (right or wrong) determination as to meaning.

Then think about DREAMING. It happens INSIDE, there is no outside stimulation for many dreams (short of noise, temperature, touch) but we live them as real and some become memories that are more lasting and vivid than real life events. Where does that come from?

I agree with the image of the brain as a glass window letting in the sunlight. It is ALL OUT THERE ALL THE TIME. We are just not aware of our place in it or relationship to it. Is the soul out there on the other side of the glass?  I’ve read all your ideas and had to drop mine in as well. This is a very interesting discussion!

I hope it continues... >>>iggy
