April Showers In May
It's been raining all week. Not the torrential rains that produce flooding, but the gentle rains and drizzles that wet the ground and grow the flowers. If it ever stops raining, the grass will be too tall for the mower and the garden soil will be too muddy to plow.
However, my basil have popped up through the soil. The sage has doubled in height and are producing small buds. The peonies smell lovely. The irises are beautiful. The tomato plants and pepper plants will have to wait in their pots a little longer before going in the ground. Oh, yes, the weeds will really need attention.
On the domestic side, I fried pollock tonight with Old Bay. It was delicious. I only served vegetables with it, and it was a wonderful. It was so healthy (except for frying in olive oil) that I can hardly believe it was so good.
