June 1 is Dare Day. I dare you to take the challenge and write something using these words: dice, provoke, fluffy, wind, dare, purring, nuts, aid. Write a story or poem about something daring or challenging. Have fun.

Dare To Be Different

Dare to be different
is what everyone says,
but being different can provoke
bullies and hate.

We are encouraged to standout
in the crowd,
but society loads the dice
against the who do not conform
and therefore stand out in the crowd.

What is a person to do
when the wind of society blows
against the advice given
by society itself.

It almost enough
to drive a person nuts
when you're told to be yourself
and in the next breath
told to conform.

Dare to be different
and if anyone criticizes you
transform yourself
into a purring cat
unsheathe your claws and scratch.

Dare to be different
if society wants you to conform
transform yourself into
a fluffy cloud
and float away on the wind.

Dare to be different
and the universe
will give you its aid
because those who dare to be different
transform society
while bringing their visions
into reality.

I knew who was when I got up when I got up this morning but I must have changed several times since then. Alice Through The Looking Glass Do you ever feel like this?

When walking through the looking glass
be careful not to break the glass
otherwise you will return a different person.

You can't help breaking the looking glass when you step through it. A trip through the looking glass is a journey of transformation. When you deliberately of accidentally step through the mirror of your own self you can't help but change the reflection because you are looking at the inner you. You are looking at the illusions upon which your reality is based. Once you begin looking at those illusions and dissecting them you can't help but find your true self.

A trip through the looking glass removes the masks that you hide behind. Sometimes we look in the mirror, see our masks, and accept those masks as reality. However, when we step through the mirror, when we break the glass in the looking glass, then we see our true selves. The only way a person can become a better person and transform him/herself is to break the mirror that reflects the masks of self-deception.
