War Chest Wednesday: A Red Letter Autumn Day
Wednesday, November 16, 2016

I tell my inner critic
To please be quiet
On this chilly autumn day

What Lo-Fi, non-electronic, or old school things from the past do you still enjoy today?

Having technology is a tradition in my family. When my grandfather was farming in Oklahoma in the early part of the last century, he was the first farmer in his area to have a tractor. So there is a lot of technology that we enjoy using, but there is still some low or non-technology stuff that we like as well. One of the low-tech things I enjoy is walking without looking at my phone every few minutes to see if Pokemon is lurking around the corner waiting to ambush me. I also like seeing a movie in a theater on television rather then watching it on a CD.

"Magic exists. Who can doubt it when there are rainbows and wild flowers, the music of the wind and the silence of the stars. Anyone who has loved has been touched by magic. It is such a simple and such an extraordinary part of our lives." Nora Roberts This is a beautiful quote. Write anything you want about this.

A Red Letter Autumn Day

Magic is in the air,
inhale the chilled breath of dawn,
watch elm leaves sail to the ground
and skip across an apartment courtyard
as the collect themselves in to piles
against the cinder block walls across the way.

The "Blogging Circle of Friends prompt for DAY 1462
"Things turn out best for people who make the best of the way things turn out." John Wooden Let this quote inspire your Wednesday writing.

Humanity has survived
making the best of what they had,
making a situation better
by making the best of things
and migrating to better locations
where wild game
and vegetables were plentiful;
later they learned
to make the best of things
while earning a living
from the land.
