New Math

"New Math" 

Math is an science I don't think I will ever fully comprehend. What really threw me for a loop in school was when they came out with "new math" in about fourth grade or so. I didn't understand what was so new about it. It seemed logical to me to think that 2+2 still equaled four. The teacher told me however that according to the new rules this wasn't necessarily the case. I knew then and there that I was doomed. It appeared that common sense and logic had nothing to do with each other. I still don't understand for example how 3-3 x 2 + 6 + -13. People could explain it to me until they're blue and it would be nonsense to me. I simply don't understand math. So yes! I think they need a new way to teach math. I think they need a way to place it directly into my brain and by pass the learning process!
