Creation Saturday: Poetic Writing Exercise
Saturday, January 14, 2017

The Creation Saturday prompt for "30-Day Blogging Challenge ON HIATUS
Create a poem inspired from your entries this month. Any style or form (or none at all). Pull lines from all of your entries thus far and see what happens. Obviously you're free to add/subtract words from lines that don't seem to fit the narrative you've come across when compiling your thoughts; this isn't meant to be a summary of the month to date, but a writing exercise.

Questions and Answers:
A Poetic Writing Exercise

Question 1:
What is my purpose?

On a spiritual pilgrimage
I walk toward paradise
with rainbows dancing across my path
and music whispering to my soul.

Question 2:
Have I ever had a worst or a better experience?

Another day of writing,
of listening to melodious echoes
from the Divine Spirit
reverberating between mind and pen.

Question 3:
Do we not live in a copy of Eden?

A fresh start
begins with forgiveness
and letting go of the past
because survival
is an exercise in humility.

Question 4:
Why do these answers sound paradoxical?

It's 2017
my favorite musical instruments are bagpipes;
my favorite flowers are roses and hyacinths;
my favorite birds are nightingales and doves;
I contemplate the fragility of life
while dealing with nobodies and somebodies
encountering death or facing dangerous situations.
