The Blog City Prompt Forum prompt for Sunday January 22, 2017 is "When have you ever had to apologize for something you know in your heart you were wrong about? How did you do it, and how were you received?"

I work a twelve step program and do my best to live a Godly life. So I hold myself to an extremely high standard. In fact my "program" or set of rules that make up my lifestyle require me to take time out each night before going to bed and examine every detail if my day. If I have had any disputes with somebody I analyze them thoroughly. I can't afford to look for their wrongs. I have to look for my own role in our dispute. When I find it, and I always do because it takes two to disagree, I figure out what I am going to do to make it right. Apologies aren't enough. I have to fix what I did wrong. So I go back to them prepared for any reception I get. When we meet I make it right. Usually I find that they apologize as well and we become friends. One thing I can tell you though folks. I have yet to find a good recipe for crow! I've tried barbecue, boiled, fried, baked, deep fried, KFC secret recipe, boiled and then fried, you name it and crow sucks! I choke on them feathers every time!

I'll do it though because I don't need to concern myself with what John Doe did to me. I need to concern myself with what did I do to John Doe.
