The rain, the park and other things
whisper their delight of spring
as winter's snow covers mountain peaks
and in the valleys frigid winds blow
nature looks forward to the melting snow.

The rain, the park and other things
wait patiently for the coming spring
when the sun crosses the vernal equinox
and mountain bluebirds sing their sweet songs
to clusters of bright red phlox.
