Happy Saint Patrick's Day and Thoughts about the Wind
Friday, March 17, 2017

The "Blogging Circle of Friends prompt for DAY 1583
We've had five days straight of howling wind. I never thought about all the sounds the wind makes until this week.How many ways can you describe the sound of wind? Can you give it emotions?

Happy Saint Patrick's Day
may the wind carry all your troubles away
and deposit them
like leaves in a trash bin
waiting to be burned.

The banshee wind wails
Mourning the dead and dying;
Proliferation of hate.

How many ways can I describe the wind? Sometimes the wind has no voice of its own, but speaks through the rustle of the leaves on the bough of trees. Sometimes it sings autumn's song as it pushes multicolored leaves across city streets or through farmyards. When the wind finds it voice it howls through broken windows and crumbling ruins mourning the fall of civilizations. It sings through towers of steel and glass celebrating the rise of civilizations. The wind echoes the thoughts, hopes, and fears of humanity as it blows across the planet.
