The way we live
The way we live
when one is in the sleep state there is no thought of the self,
the I. in this state we do not know if we are a man or a women,
young or old, short or tall, rich or poor.

It is only in the awakened state that the i appears.
from the moment the eyes are open after sleep it begins,
the ego begins to speak to us, it tells us of the many things
that we must do this day.

We must run here and there, we must do this and that,
without thought, most jump from their beds and into activity,
and this is how days, years, and lives are spent.

Running running running, the mind is always going,
judging and competing with our fellows, grasping for more,
more money and power, more possessions, more love.

Never do we question this behavior because it is what we have
seen and been taught from childhood, therefore we believe it
to be the way we supposed to be.

We wonder why we are not happy, not fulfilled, not at peace.
It is only when we STOP, and become Quiet and turn With-in,
long enough for the light of reason to enter our being,
that we can begin to see the error of our ways.

Until one can gain such insight no lasting change can come.
we will lie on our death beds full of fear as all is being taken
from us, family, possessions, all the things we have gathered,
all those things that seemed so important. death is not painful,
death is like taking off a pair of tight shoes.

It is the loss of all these gatherings, these attachments,
that causes such great pain at the time of death, and is the
cause of rebirth again and again.

So my dear friends start now, while you still have breath,
don't wait another moment, death may come for you in the
next second. find out who you are and learn why you are here,
don't waste this precious human birth ....
