Homing Pigeon

We wear our skin lightly and for but a short time,
shed it as the hour arrives that it no longer serves.

Joy fills us, gives us wings, when our Creator calls
and enlightens the way for our Soul to take flight.

Many are sad to see it go, but it's glad to be gone.
It has traveled on home and will never return.
