Motivational Monday! Singer Mavis Staples, born on this day in 1939, once said "If you don't get out among the people, how are you going to know what they need to hear about?" How has reviewing other people's work on WDC helped you become better? Have you received a very helpful review lately that made any difference in your writing?

I think reviewing and getting reviews is what makes participating on WdC such a great thing. I always was very conscious about letting others read what I had written, but WdC taught me the great benefits of getting reviews and reviewing yourself. It teaches me to look at my own writing from a distance and that way I can become a better writer. Without reviews, you develop a tunnel vision which is never good.
