Meditation on the Fire Tablet
Meditation on the Fire Tablet:
To the Blessed Beauty

"In the Name of God, the Most Ancient, the Most Great."
Bahá’u’lláh, Baha'i Prayer, page 214, first paragraph of the Fire Tablet

Desire of the universe,
I contemplate the words
inscribed by the Pen of the Most High,
as he sat in the desolation of Akka.

O Comforter of humanity,
In my solitude
I meditate upon the burning loneliness
consuming the soul
of the lover separated
from the Beloved.

O Thou who are the Salvation of Earth,
ignite a fire in my veins
that will destroy the veils of hesitation
preventing me from proclaiming
Thy Glorious Name.
