Teddy Bear Day
Saturday, September 9. 2017

The "Blogging Circle of Friends prompt for DAY 1759
September 9 is Teddy Bear Day. Write a story, poem, or tribute to a Teddy Bear.

Christmas and Christmas Eve are the teddy bears sitting on my couch,
they sit watching the days pass
without complaining or asking why
I sometimes cry.

When I was growing up, one of my sibling or I had a teddy bear. I'm not sure what happened to the bear after I left Oklahoma. It may have been among the toys I gave to the Southern Baptist Mission in the Blackwell Heights. I know before I left, I gave a lot of things away. I left a lot of things behind because I was taking a bus to Las Vegas and could not take everything with me. There are some things I regret leaving behind, but that is the way of life. Sometimes when you move you cannot take everything with you except a few clothes. I'm sure whatever I left behind someone was able to use.
