A Grateful Heart

Peace, Be Still

This morning, I am grateful for peace. Peace is hard to come by in a tumultuous world, so the best thing we can do in this time of unrest is seek the greatest source of peace there is, Christ Himself. This world will never change until we change the state of our hearts. Discord in the hearts of men leads to discord in the world. But Christ has overcome the world and is the only one who can still and quiet the storms that rage in our hearts. I find that when my heart is right before God, I have peace and stability in my life. This does not mean that the waters in my life are never troubled, but when I release these disturbances to Christ, He calms the waters and thus my soul. I still have to pass through the waters, but Christ arranges safe passage for me and I am not overcome. So with a grateful heart, I thank Christ for His peace and pray the same for everyone in the world.

"These things I have spoken to you, that in Me you may have peace. In the world you will have tribulation; but be of good cheer, I have overcome the world." John 16:33
