Who Do We Pray To?

Judaism

To God.

Christianity

To God,
The Father,
The Son,
Or The Holy Spirit.

Latter Day Saints

To God,
The Eternal Father,
In the name of Jesus Christ.

Hinduism

The Lord;
The names used doesn't matter;
Go may be worshiped in any form desired.

Islam

To Allah,
Who has no beginning and no ending,
Wo always will be,
Who begets not and neither is He begotten,
He is the Lord of the Word,
He is to great to be contained.

Baha'i

To God,
To Baha'u'llah,
Through Baha'u'llah to God.

How Do We Pray?

Judaism

Spontaneous prayer,
Or prayer from the prayer book.

Christianity

Jesus
Taught the Christian how to pray.

Latter Day Saints

The sincere soul having faith in Jesus Christ
prays from the heart.

Hinduism

Ther are many ways to pray;
In any form desired;
A selfish or unselfish prayer.

Islam

Pray as Muhammad
The Seal of the Prophets taught;
It depends on instructions with the prayer;
It can be standing,
or setting,
or laying on one's side.

Baha'i

Prayers revealed by Baha'u'llah,
Or The Bab,
Or 'Abdu'l-Baha;
There is no set ritual,
However,
The instructions accompanying the prayer must be followed.

Why Do We Pray?

Judaism

Communication with God;
To improve the self.

Christianity

It is the Will of God.

Latter Day Saints

To know God and Jesus Christ;
To develop trust and reliance on the Lord,
To find eternal truth.

Hinduism

To Achieve nirvana
(Freedom);
To help other human beings to be free
(Achieve nirvana).

Islam

Belief in Allah;
To follow His commands;
It teaches the management of time'
It bestow physical benefits.

Baha'i

Daily prayer is obligatory!
It behooves the servant to pray;
To praise God;
To strengthen the connection between God and self.

That seeks divine attributes!

That transcends the need to prayer!
