His Voice

My life I live for Christ alone,
though how I cannot say.
My love for God has ever grown
from that salvation day.

I want to hear the Voice of One,
Who called the worlds to be.
I want to know as His own son
He has a path for me.

Those hearing hearts, who know the pitch
of every Heavenly sound
cause me to strain for words so rich,
until they're clearly found.

Yet, peaceful are the strains of night,
and daily shines the light.
I wonder if His speaking way
brings much in this to say.

The greatest friendships, that I know
are filled with silent bliss.
To linger o'er a cup o' Joe,
my peaceful pate to kiss.

To live in peace in the King's great rest
bespeaks release from toil.
I need just hide near His kingly chest
when life's great storms do roil.

The daily golden sunlight rays
come from a smiling Face.
He speaks in many silent ways
of lasting, steady Grace.

"Though still a single word I'd hear,
that You may choose to give,
please let me know Your silences dear
as daily I still live."
