PROMPT May 6th

Write about an object you own that has negligible monetary value, but is priceless to you.

I've written about this subject before,
and I'm wondering what more
there is to say:
I use her bead every day,
when I intone “Alláh-u-Abhá!”1
95 times.

I remember Mom using the prayer beads everyday before she went to work. Even after the Alzheimer's begin to get worse, she would use the prayer beads a couple of times a day. I suspect she would forget she chanted “Alláh-u-Abhá!”, so she chanted it again.

Pink or Rose Pink Prayer Beads

95 pink beads
Mom intoned God's Most Great Name
her voice melodic

95 pink beads
Mom counted the beads each time
she intoned God's Most Great Name

A blossom in God's garden
Rose beneath the Tree of Life

Mom's prayer beads
hangs around my neck
waiting for me to intone
God's Greatest Name
