Just an image Prompt: "Hello Everyone,

Prompt, Saturday, November 28, 2020

Proverbs 3:25-28 Be Kind and Generous to Others.

25. Be not afraid of sudden fear, neither of the desolation of the wicked, when it cometh.

26. For the Lord shall be thy confidence and shall keep thy foot from being taken.

27. Withhold not good from them to whom it is due when it is in the power of thine hand to do it.

28. Say not unto thy neighbor, Go, and come again, and tomorrow I will give when thou hast it by thee."

God is letting us know here that if we obey His will, He Himself will be our protection. Evil will not be able to overtake us for God is in our corner. There are of course some stipulations to this. We can't just live any old way we want. We have to live God's way. If somebody asks us for something and it is in our power to lend it we are to lend it. We keep no records and if we get it back we get it back. Otherwise, God will get even. We don't put somebody off if it is in our power to help them. We help them on the spot. This is God's way.

A person is more than they seem

. We have all heard the expression that one should never judge a book by its cover. This poem is about not judging a person based on appearances. Tell us a story about somebody misjudging somebody. Perhaps you were misjudged?

I have definitely been misjudged. I was hitching a ride through a town once many years ago. A sheriff's deputy pulled over and asked for my ID. I gave it to him and he ran it and left. After he pulled out he went down the street, did a u trun and came back. He jumped out with his shotgun trained on me and told me to get on the ground. He arrested me. I asked what was going on and he said I was wanted for half a dozen charges including robbery and murder. I knew he had the wrong person but I cooperated with him. He took me to the jail and put me in a holding cell. Fifteen minutes later he came back and apologized for arresting the wrong person. He said I fit the profile and my name was similar to the man they were looking for. He had misjudged me.

I have a fir tree that I am using for a Christmas tree. I have an owl sitting on a branch of it. The snow is deep outside. I need to put another ornament or two on my tree. One ornament is pure crystal. There is a scene on the wall behind my tree covered with clouds.

I am not doing anything for Christmas this year. I may go down to the Salvation Army and volunteer for a while.
