I took a little quiz last night while watching "Brothers and Sisters" and wanted to post my results. *Wink*

Are You Over Your Ex?

Your Results:
You are on the road to recovery
Recovering from a break-up can be a trying experience and a test of your resiliency, especially if you invested a lot of your self and time into the relationship, only to realize in the end it was best if you were not together after all. There is no time limit on when you're supposed to be over an ex, but as long as each passing day gets better, you're on the right track. To move on in a healthy and productive way, really evaluate the causes of the break-up, what you did to contribute both negatively and positively to the relationship and how your future relationships can be more successful. You might occasionally stumble along the road to recovery and fall back on bad post-break-up behaviors, but you know that you're way better off than you were right after the break-up. Your future is looking brighter and you have faith in yourself that you will soon get back to your old self.

PS...... If I had won anything, you would have been the first to know. *Rolleyes*

This has been one of the best weekends I've had in a very long time. Yesterday I attended a political cookout with my dad and his wife. Last night I went to the Elks club. Every year, as a fund raiser, they do a reverse drawing. They draw numbers/names of each ticket holder, one at a time. The last number/name in the pot wins $10,000. During the night, they give prizes to the 50th, 100th, 200th ticket drawn so as to drag out the suspense.

Today, I spent most of the day on the beach and just had to share these pictures.

This entry relates somewhat to several blogs I've read in the last few days about people and their disrespect for others. I witnessed an amazing event today that gave me back my faith in the human race.

A trucker was trying to make a left turn and as such, needed a few extra feet to manuever. The car that stopped at the red light in the other direction had pulled too close to the line. The trucker was blocking traffic but was trying desperately to make his turn. He finally got out of his truck, asked the driver of the car nicely if he would back up a few feet. We're in a small town with one friggin stoplight so we all had windows down and were waiting patiently for the car to move. The guy in the car started screaming obscenities to the trucker, telling him how people down here need to learn to drive and that he wasn't backing up and blah, blah, blah....

The poor trucker was flabbergasted and was still trying to assess the situation, when in a flash, out of nowhere, came a gray dodge Ram pickup, complete with the Ram hood ornament with two good ole boys sitting up tall. They ran the median, jumped out of the truck, hooked a chain to the car, towed it to the side of the road, unhooked the chain and fled. This happened in the blink of an eye!! People were out of their cars and clapping!!! God, I love those good ole rednecks!

I come to you today with a heavy heart. How can one person have such an affect on someone else? How can that same person break through that wall and give so much love and laughter and tenderness and passion, then walk away?

I try to forget, I try to move on. I scream, I yell, I cry........ I miss him so bad and hate myself for it! I try to portray this happy disposition to you guys but you see through it. Every time the phone rings, I run to grab it thinking it could be him. He has been known to drive to my house to apologize! So, each time a car goes by or I hear a door shut, I wonder if it is him. I am driving myself crazy.

How can you continue to love someone who has no desire or intention of being in your life? How can you cling to memories made with someone who has no intentions of saying goodbye, no intentions of continuing? Someone who has moved on and never thinks of you or the the good times or the laughter, the smiles, the passion?

Somebody please stop this roller coaster!!! I want to get off, now!

Do you ever feel like you can't get everything done? Been a great weekend and I hate to see it end. The sun is shining and the forecast is about 79 so I think a beach day is calling me.

And if you ever wonder what happens when women over 40 try to do stupid things and you really need a laugh, watch this!!

As most of my Blogville friends are aware of the issues I have with my dad and his illness, I just want to warn you.............

Daddy has been rapidly improving lately and has been giving us nightmares about wanting a vehicle. He has a valid NC driver's license but his wife and I have avoided the issue of him driving. I do not believe that his attention span is such that he should be on the road with a car. They also own a business and if the worse were to happen, the repercussions could be tremendous not to mention I'd never forgive myself after rehabbing him back to health. That being said, we've come to a compromise.

He has refused to have anything to do with a "handicap" sign, tag or anything related to being handicapped. He says as long as he can walk, he will have none of it. His wellbeing has come down to his independence. (gawd, now I know where I get THAT trait) *Rolleyes* Our town has an ordinance that says you can ride a golf cart on the sidewalks or any road where the speedlimit is 35 or below, if you have handicap tags and doctor documentation. Yep, he bought a golf cart! He is in the process of pimping his ride. *Rolleyes* He is as excited as a kid at Christmas. The police department, DMV, his doctor and the guy who sold it to him have recommended that we put flags and signs and anything else that will make him more visible. He has been online and found racing stripes and flags and bumper stickers. You would NOT believe the stuff you can do to those things. Heck, I want ONE!!! *Wink*

So, if you see a 70 year old man, grinning like a possum, racing (at 19mph) down the road or sidewalk with a red flag flying that says "Let's get nekkid".... Please blow the horn and wave!! *Bigsmile*

Uh, I'll spend the weekend riding around town with him; partially because he wants to show it off, partially because I want to make sure that we cover all the issues he may encounter when I'm not with him!! Look out world, he's loose!!

Luv ya, mean it

Property tax bills were put in the mail last Friday so my world became a whirlwind. I promise to play catchup with blogs and friends in a few more days.

Today, Debi Wharton and Eric Wharton are starting their trip back to PA. They are taking a leisurely trek back up the coast and are going to stop today and have lunch with me. *Smile* I'm very excited and have decided that I'd like to meet more of my WDC friends. You guys have been so wonderful to me that I'd jump at the opportunity to stop and say hello. I think it's time to plan a little trip. Maybe I could fly somewhere and then drive from door to door. Sounds like a plan!

You know, we always say we are going to do things but never do. I know there are many of you that I'll never meet. Please know that makes you no less special to me.

Now, I'm off to collect some revenue! Hope you have a great day! I know I will!

Luv ya, mean it

She’s a mother, she’s a sister, she’s a stepdaughter. She is a friend who cannot be described. She is the one I pour my heart out to when it’s breaking, the one who makes me laugh, the one who makes me cry and the one who gives me her undying friendship. She is true and loyal, compassionate and passionate. She loves the water, Darla, and Devann above all else. Though sometimes “disconnected”, she is always available to lend an ear, give advice and send a hug. She knows all my secrets, my hopes, my dreams and my sadness. She is truly an inspiration to me. Without friends like her, my world would be nothing. I stand in awe of her accomplishments and the things she’s done and will do.

Please run over to bugzy is baaaccck!! ’s blog and wish her the best birthday ever.

Here are a few friendship quotes that remind me of Judy. She is all these things and more. Hug your friends, tell them they are special. I just did!

"Each friend represents a world in us, a world possibly not born until they arrive, and it is only by this meeting that a new world is born."

"Your friend is the one who knows all about you, and still likes you."

"A friend is someone who knows the song in your heart, and can sing it back to you when you have forgotten the words."

"A friend is someone who is there for you when he'd rather be anywhere else."

"A friend is one who believes in you when you have ceased to believe in yourself."

"I get by with a little help from my friends."

"Friendship is unnecessary, like philosophy, like art... It has no survival value; rather is one of those things that give value to survival."

"The love of my life is the love between friends."

“Friendship is like a perennial river which flows forever. It may change it's path but will never ever dry up.”

"To be depressed is to be lonely; to have a friend is to be happy..."

I had the awesome pleasure of attending the wedding of Debi Wharton and Eric Wharton yesterday evening. The weather was perfect with a temperature of about 80 and very low humidity. Hey, I had to say that, it’s rare here. *Bigsmile* As I pulled up to park, the lot was full so I turned around to head to the next closest beach access. Fire trucks, police cars and bike cops blocked the entrance. I found parking and kicked off my shoes and headed to the beach. Up over the dunes, down the steps and WTF…………………

There was a small engine airplane sitting on the beach strand with hundreds of people gawking. *Shock* Seems the pilot misjudged his fuel range and landed a bit shy of the airport in Myrtle Beach. *Frown* Pilot and passenger were fine, plane was unscathed and the wedding was several blocks down the strip so I made the trek. There was so much excitement and cameras were snapping. Yes, I did get pictures but I promised not to share them until Debi has a chance to brag herself. *Cool*Out of respect for her, I will let her do the sharing. I do have permission to share one that was taken just for welkerdeb and will at the end of this entry.

The wedding vows were spoken, the sand ceremony was performed, (this was awesome and something I had never witnessed) pictures were taken and we headed back to the condo for the reception. A great time was had by all and I met some awesome people. Debi and Eric are two of the greatest people in the world and I am fortunate to have had the opportunity to share this day with them.

Oh, the kangaroo…….. is the name of a convenience store. On my way out of Myrtle Beach, I stopped to grab a mt. dew and smokes for the drive home. I was less than an hour away. I ran into two guys coming out of the store. One of them was an old acquaintance of mine from my waitress days. We said our idle chit chats and hellos. To get to the good part; he and his wife divorced about three years ago, his daughter got married and has a baby on the way and he wants to take ME to supper one night!*Blush* He asked for my number and I gave it to him. Amazing how giddy I felt pulling out of that store in my little red car.

I love you guys and hope you have a great day!
Without my friends, I’d be nothing!
*Heart*

Oh, the present, er picture for welkerdeb…………………………..

I’ve been working on tax bills today. The town runs all year on the money brought in for those so I was trying my best to get them out today. Software issues…… *Rolleyes* I worked about 12 hours yesterday and most of the day today and when I hit the “calculate” button; I get an error message.

“That township doesn’t exist”

WTF! Ok, I flip to another screen to check the township code on a few of the records and yep, it’s 01. Thinking maybe I typed it in wrong, I reset everything, rebuilt indexes, followed all written instruction to the letter. Noooooooooooooooo!!

My day just went to hell from there! And how about you???? Tell me about your day…. Without my friends, I am nothing and I wanna know what’s going on in your world.

Luv ya, mean it (with all my heart)
