True Story, the child lives, Abuse. continuing short story... |
continue... One Dark DayAbout the time that Shirley was looking over at her beautiful baby girl, wondering " why me lord"? Shirley's husband, Lou, came busting through the door, knocking a framed document off of the wall as the door went crashing into the wall just behind the door. And there he was ranting and raving again. Shirley was so scared that she did pee herself this time. Doctor Applebee saw how scared Mrs. Mills was of this mad man and took it upon his-self to call the police. Not only was he afraid for the young woman but also for himself and his staff. In the mean time, Lou was at the examining table where Shirley laid, she was white as the sheet she was laying on, because for some reason she didn't bleed with this delivery, except for a few spots. She looked like she could easily have died in the next few moments, there was no color left in her face, she had gone pale white and very weak. This didn't deter Lou from the task he had on his mind to accomplish. All of a sudden he started shouting like he did when he came into the clinic mere minutes earlier. Lou started shouting at the poor woman that laid half dead on the examining table, telling her she had to get up and get dressed! " right now damnit!", " You've got to go home and fix me some lunch, and you damn well better have it ready in time too, or else... and don't forget the shitty diaper you just squirted out either, damn! Another squallin' youngin' to hear crying all day and night. Well you gotta tend to it " not" me, now let's go, NOW! " Doctor Applebee looked on in shock, he had never seen anything like it in all of his years in practice. The young woman, Shirley was straining to lift herself upright to a sitting position, to be able to get off of the table. Shirley was sliding off of the table barely able to stand, asking the nurse to please hand her, her cloths. The nurse did as she asked and Shirley put back on the soaked dress that she came in. The nurse had to help because Shirley almost fainted, so the nurse steadied her and helped her get her dress back on. The Doctor and nurses alike knew that it was pure terror and fear that drove this helpless woman to get up in her condition to move or walk. The doctor was wondering if the police would ever get there, but as it seemed at the time, they weren't coming anytime too soon and wouldn't get there in time from what he was witnessing. Doctor Applebee watched as Shirley took her baby girl out of the nurses hands. All cleaned and wrapped in a nice warm blanket. The baby was so small, ( since she was a premmie) that she filled up Shirley's hand. The doctor stopped Lou at the door saying once again," please, Mr. Mills, your wife and baby need immediate attention, they need to go to the hospital right away. " Lou shouted at him then and said " If you want what some of my family get's when they get in my way then just keep coming mister." The Doctor moved and allowed them to pass, looking on in horror as he watched Lou push poor Shirley out of the main front doors, into the cold air. You see... this was during the winter of January 29th, 1959, at 9:00 a.m. This is the part where I will end this short story/novella until the next segment.
