Life thoughts and experiences...
If you think about it, every chance you take in life is a gamble. There are no promises, ya just gotta beat the odds.
I figure...some I win, some I lose, but thus far, the wins far outnumber the losses, so I consider myself one very lucky lady.
I am recently divorced and love my single status. I live in the most perfect place on earth, North Carolina, close to my roots as part of my family originated from a town very close to where I now live.

Well, it's winding down towards the end of July and my upgrade expires, so I will be winding down this blog.
I've been here a little over a year, and have met some of the most interesting people i've ever known. This site, in a way, has brought about drastic changes in my life, very drastic. But I have no regrets, other than being a little gullible sometimes. *Laugh*

Life is good and I am happy for the most part. I have some of the most wonderful friends in the world, a few even, are here on WDC. I wouldn't trade them for anything! I am a very lucky woman! I have a job, such as it is, my very best friend, is just a few feet away, I have everything I really need, so, what else could I ask for?

I hope life is treating all y'all well. *Heart*

I woke up this morning, "in a mood". I don't know why, just remnants of a dream I think, but I don't remember the dream! *Laugh* so that should make work interesting today.

We all make choices in our lives, some turn out right, some, wrong. No one ever makes the "right" choice every time. A year and a half ago, I left Colorado, and told myself, from that point on, no regrets. That's easier said than done sometimes! *Laugh* But for the most part, I have no regrets and am happy right where I am. I've found that part of the secret to being happy is, ya just gotta leave the past behind and stop re-visiting it, wondering if you should've made a different choice, etc. The choice has been made, now it's time to just get on with it.

I'm the world's worst at living in the past. But I've come a long way towards not doing that anymore. And i'm a lot happier for it.

I do realize that every choice we make, tends to affect anyone close to us. That's a given. But to forever torture oneself over decisions we have made, can lead to insanity! What's done is done. They will deal with it, unless you continue to enable them to make you feel bad.

Like I said, I don't know why i'm in such a bitchy mood today, but I am. I will be asking: "are you ready to order" while at the same time thinking, "How fucking long do you NEED to decide what you wanna eat? There ain't that many choices on the damned menu!" *Laugh*

I've been worried about a very good friend of mine, so that is on my mind too. Do you ever wish you could just take all the problems of those you love and dispense with them for them?? Yeah, I know, can't be done. But I can sure as hell do my best to make it a little easier for them!

Hope everyone has a great weekend!! *Heart*

I love summertime! This summer, thus far, has been fairly cool, weatherwise! I love it!

Well, I'm back to the grindstone, still hoping for a better job offer prior to beginning the current job next week, so we'll see... I think it will be an alright job other than the average work week for me will be 50-70 hours a week, and it's salaried, so no O/T. :(

Otherwise, life is good, and I believe I am one VERY lucky woman. I have everything i've ever needed all in one place. So, I am content and happy.

I've been a little restless this week, I know it's only cuz i'll be tied down to a job coming soon, but it drives me a little nutty.

Hope everyone is doing well!

Wow! It doesn't seem like I have been on WDC for 2 years! Had you told me 2 years ago that my life would change as drastically as it has since then, i'd have flat out told you that you were nuts!

I went through a divorce, met and moved all the way across the country to be with a man that makes me very, VERY happy, went back to a very simple life without all the silly frills, and my best friend in the whole world is someone I KNEW i'd NEVER be friends with, much less have her for my BEST friend. Funny how life has such twists and turns in it. Had anyone told me this 2 years ago, i'd have looked at them like they'd grown two heads!

All in all, life is pretty good right now. I love being back in the south where everything is so pretty and green! I've travelled a little the past few months, had both good things and bad things happen, but it's all good. I'm content. Which is a rare state of mind for me.

I hope life is treating y'all well.

It's almost summer, but we are still having some good cool days and nights here in the mountains. I didn't think last year was all that bad as far as heat and humidity. We've got a lot of rain this spring, which is always a good thing.

Made one last trip down to Mississippi a couple weeks back, I was kinda meloncholy cuz I knew it would probably be my last due to the fact i'm going to work. *sigh* lol

Anyhow...the system on here keeps bitching at me to update my blog, so I thought i'd get on a write a few words.
Hope everyone is doing well!

Hey Y'all!
We just got back from our trip to Orlando, we loved meeting Sarah Buxton and she put on a really great acoustic concert for us. She has a really neat, plain ol' country girl, personality which made it really fun to sit and talk to her. There are more pics in my port but here's one while we were getting ready for dinner.

The next day we went to Kennedy Space Center

It was an interesting trip, they had 2 shuttles on the launch pads, one will go in May the other in June, they said it will be the last time there will ever be two shuttles on the launch pads at one time.

That evening we went to have dinner and party a little at Margaritaville in Universal Studios.

I had to have:

Of course! *Laugh*

We went to play mini golf, and they had these little gators there, these two were going to fight, but both fell asleep in the middle of the stand off....

We had a late flight out of Orlando, but it was worth it to see this sunset!

I have to say, J.D. Haas, puts on one heck of a trip! All they do is "Dream Trips of a Lifetime" and they pay for everything! There were a total of 6 couples in our group, which was perfect, made it a more private experience. If you ever get a chance to win one of these trips, TAKE IT! J.D. and his assistant, Kevin, were GREAT!

Hope everyone is enjoying this beautiful spring weather!

Well...my vacation from being the big sister is officially over in one fell swoop! It started innocently enough... a phone call from my mother saying one of my sisters was pregnant with her fourth child, and was hysterical about it since she thought she was done doing the baby thing, and to top it off, no matter what she would eat or drink, she'd get sick....so it was gonna be a loooonnnnnnggggg pregnancy. So I talk to her, find out that she really is hysterical about having another baby. She finally got all her kids in school, one was in high school even, and here she was prego again.
Then comes another sister, she's in college right now, she needs a computer to do her assignments, she buys an OLD used computer then has a million and one questions about how to work it, which I'm trying to explain what to do from a thousand miles away.... *Rolleyes*

I don't recall if I mentioned it, but my step Mom recently passed away at the young age of 67, It was totally and completly unexpected. I got an email from another sister last night, she is having a really hard time with the death of her Mom. She asked for any words of wisdom that might help her thru the pain, I told her wisdom? ME? That she needed to remember who she was talking to here. But I offered her what words of comfort I could give her, I don't know that it done much good, but I hope it helped her a little, it just kills me for her to be hurting like this.

Then a letter from one of my brothers saying he couldn't eat anything lately (my step mom was his birth mom), So I sat down and wrote him a long letter.

Sometimes it just sucks to be the oldest!

Happier news: We are getting ready for our trip to Orlando this coming week to meet and have dinner with Sarah Buxton and go to Kennedy Space Center. It will be a good getaway weekend for us! I finally got my North Carolina drivers license! Yay! And got my mustang and boat here and went down and got tags for all the vehicles, so that was a good thing finally done!

I keep getting emails from my old boss from where I worked as a waitress, first he offered me a management position, then he upped it to a partnership if I would just come back to work over there. The regulars are still asking for me! lol..that made me feel good!

Hope everyone is doing great and enjoying this beautiful Spring weather!!

Have you ever noticed how sometimes life is soooooooooo GOOD!?? Hope everyone has something fun planned for Easter!
We are getting together with his kids and grandchildren on Saturday for a get together, I think it will be a blast!

We just got back from another week and a half in Biloxi Mississippi and New Orleans. I love it there in the spring, but i'll bet the summers are miserable! It's storming here today, but we live in a small cove so it's pretty protected from the worst of the weather.

There's not much new going on, other than next weekend we are going to Orlando on an expense paid trip I won from Kiss Country Radio here in Asheville. We will meet and have lunch with Sarah Buxton, go to Kennedy Space Center and take the 'ultimate' tour, along with some other things. I thought it was cool, they even sent us the plane tix to get there! I'm excited! It won't be super hot there yet, and I think it'll be a lot of fun!

Hope everyone has a wonderful Easter!

Gosh it's been a busy week! The kids are out for Spring Break, and the weather has been beautiful up until today when we had rain. So on Sunday, we went over to Cherokee and went to the petting zoo there. The kids loved feeding the grizzly bears and I got to hold a baby grizzly, he was only 2 months old and we got our picture made with him.

When we left there we went over to the gem mine and got buckets of dirt to search. Michaela found a lot of emeralds and Cody and I found a lot of Rubies and Sapphires. It was an interesting experience. The kids were getting hungry and asked for Taco Bell so on the way over there, we passed a helicopter taking off, it was mentioned by Cody that he'd like to ride one, so we went and ate then came back and took a ride on the helicopter. We had a blast.

Monday, we went to the Biltmore estate. The kids wanted to see "America's Castle",the largest family owned residence in the United States. Now that's my kinda house, a person could easily get lost and not be found for days! lol.. It is a beautiful place.

Tuesday we went to the Western North Carolina Nature Center and Zoo and spent the day visiting the animals then we each adopted an animal for a year, Cody is now the proud "parent" of a Timber Rattlesnake, Michaela is the proud "parent" of a Bobcat and I am the proud "parent" of a Gray Wolf. The day was so pretty we were reluctant to go home and wanted to stay outside, so we went to the park, and played for a while.

Today was raining, so we went over to Fun Depot, they have indoor go carts, bumper cars, video arcade, climbing wall, laser tag, a pizza parlor, ice cream parlor, and I am exhausted from playing so hard! *Laugh*

Tomorrow and Friday will be rainy too so we are going to the Health Adventure museum one day and the Gem and Mineral Museum the next. We will drop them at the airport on Sunday then we are heading back to Mississippi for a few days!

Hope everyone is doing well!

We left like 3 weeks ago to head down to Biloxi Mississippi for 3 or 4 days, well...that 3 or 4 days turned into something more like 3 weeks! Oops! *Laugh* A lot happened in that 3 weeks, about the third day in, I got the news that my step mother had died. I had some trouble with that one.
Anyway, on the brighter side, we stayed at Beau Rivage there in Biloxi, and won a little cash at the casino there and then went to the IP casino just down the road for a couple of days and played there and at Boomtown. Boomtown definitely has the loosest slots, I hit one machine for over $1000.00, and several others for a few hundred.

We then decided to drive the short distance to New Orleans, where we stayed at Harrah's, for a few days, won some money there and then went to Gulfport Mississippi and stayed at the Island View Resort & Casino for a few days, won a little more money and went back to New Orleans just in time to celebrate St. Patricks Day in the French Quarter and I am so glad I got to experience that!! It was something else!

But it sure feels good to be back home for a while. Stopped in Atlanta and picked up the kids and brought them home with us for spring break, so I have some things I want to do with them this week, we will take them back to Atlanta next Sunday.

Hope everyone is doing well!
