Life thoughts and experiences...
If you think about it, every chance you take in life is a gamble. There are no promises, ya just gotta beat the odds.
I figure...some I win, some I lose, but thus far, the wins far outnumber the losses, so I consider myself one very lucky lady.
I am recently divorced and love my single status. I live in the most perfect place on earth, North Carolina, close to my roots as part of my family originated from a town very close to where I now live.

Things have finally came together and are where they are supposed to be! We took a short trip to Tunica Mississippi this past week, had a great time at the casinos there. It felt soooooo good to get away for a while! The only thing that would have made it better would have been if another friend of ours could have gone with us!

We stopped in Memphis on the way home and visited Graceland. That was worth the price of admission! I'll try and get some pics put up here soon of that visit!

I've been doing a little of my part to "stimulate" the economy the past week, and if the weather ever cooperates here, I'm going out to do a little more stimulating! *Laugh* I am desperate for a washer and dryer, and need to go shopping! Today we have wind advisories of sustained winds of 35 mph till 5pm.

I hope life is treating everyone well! Have a great weekend! *Delight*

Hope everyone is having a great week. I miss my best friend!! :(
I really hate waiting, but now I have a definite date so it's not so bad, just a few more days.
It's been snowing like crazy the past couple of days, and cold as heck! I'm ready for summertime! Went over and spent a couple of days in Cherokee with a friend, and that was fun, so I did get to get out a little bit. I'm getting a really bad case of "cabin fever" here!

There's not a whole lot going on lately, went car shopping the other day, thinking about getting a Honda, we'll see. I'm ready to head for Vegas right NOW!! *Laugh*

We are talking about taking a few weeks and starting in New Orleans and driving east along the Gulf Coast then south down the coast of Florida to Key West. Just a leisurely road trip, enjoy some warmer weather, (the temp here right now is 14), and get out of the house for a bit.
I'm looking forward to that. He's a good travel companion. *Laugh*

Hope things are going well for everyone!

A belated Happy New Year! Hope everyone has the best year ever! :)
Christmas was wonderful, thanks to a very special friend. This woman has gone far beyond what it takes to get her angel wings and I love her dearly, and also to the friend that I live with, after all that.. he might just deserve sainthood... well... nah... I wouldn't go quite that far! lol
New Years Eve brought it's own special reward. So it was a very happy last month of the year!

I finally got the letter I was waiting for a few days ago..now to wait for the 30 days to pass to get the actual money! What a pain in the butt this has been and my patience is wearing very thin!

My 2nd book is now in the cover design stage! So it should be out before long!

2009 so far has been a very emotional time with a lot of things going on, hopefully once all this passes, things will be better. Hope everyone has a great year! :D

Hope everyone is having a great holiday season thus far! We've got the tree up, a few gifts under it and the stockings hung! I feel like i'm making progress!!

I'll be leaving on the 19th to go to Chattanooga to pick up the kids, and my baby dog! I'm really excited about that! Then we are heading out to where we'll be spending Christmas. It's going to be a very good Christmas this year, full of the Christmas spirit! What more could a person ask for than her children, her dog, and the most awesome friends *Heart* in the world! *Delight* Well... it would be absolutely perfect if my 2 oldest children could come, but they have other obligations, so maybe next year. One is in Northern Missouri, not too awful far from Kansas City and the other is in Southern Missouri, in West Plains.

In other news..lol...I have a new book being published! It's called "Legendary Colorado" "It's History, Ghosts & Tales of Lost Treasures." I'm working on the editing process now...YUCK! *Laugh*

But all in all....life is good! Now...if the stupid letter i'm waiting on EVER GETS HERE, life will be perfect again! *Laugh*
Have a wonderful week everyone!!

I hope everyone had a wonderful Thanksgiving. Mine was great! I really enjoyed the great company, the good food, and the family atmosphere!
Now it's time to get ready for.....Christmas??? Already??? *Shock*
My kids are coming on the 20th!!! I can't wait to see them!! We will spend a little time here at home and then we are headed to the beach! They are gonna love that!! Thank God for my two best friends in the whole world!! I love them both to pieces and think my kids are gonna love them too!
I had been kinda thinking it would be a bittersweet holiday, but now I am so excited I can barely sit still! I can't wait to start decorating and getting things ready!!!
Hope y'all have a great weekend! Shop till ya drop! I think i'll kinda avoid this holiday "black" friday and weekend! Find something to do other than fight other shoppers!
Enjoy your family time!!!

I can't believe how fast this year has gone by! Seems like just yesterday it was January!
I've been busy with baking and working on NaNoWriMo, I might actually make my 50K words! YAY!

The past couple of days I've been baking, got a lot of Kolachke's made, this year I made some with strawberry, or orange marmalade or apple butter, they turned out well. Also made White Chocolate Macadamia Nut cookies. Today i'm making a Pumpkin Roll and chocolate chip cookies, along with a Pecan Pie.

I'll be spending Thanksgiving with a friend, his sister, and one or two of his nephews. His kids will be by later in the day also, so it will be a very good day. We decided to go with both ham & turkey this go-round, along with the standard thanksgiving fare of stuffing, deviled eggs, sweet taters, mashed potatoes and gravy, yeast rolls, and green bean casserole.

My Nano story is rolling right along, now to figure out how to completely wrap in up within 10k words! lol.

It's been cold here lately, we've even had TWO snows! Thought we might get another yesterday, but it fizzled out, but turkey day is supposed to be nice and warm!

I hope all y'all have a wonderful Thanksgiving!

As I was sitting here thinking tonight, making plans for a travel adventure in early January for myself and a friend, I got to thinking about how good life really is.
I have everything I need, along with a male friend I wouldn't trade for anything, although he does make me roll my eyes now and again, just being himself. *Laugh* Although....for someone that says he is such a simple man....he sure is complicated!*Rolleyes*

I also have a female friend that I also wouldn't trade for anything. She is fast becoming one of my most cherished friends. She is truly an amazing woman, and has my utmost respect and admiration, along with the hope that she is able to finally find that 'fairy tale' she has looked for. I love her dearly.

When I came to North Carolina, I left everything I knew, basically, behind. I was not sure how it would work out at all, it was a little scary, but it has worked out very well for me. Now things are finally coming fully together and by mid December, my life will be back to somewhat normal...for me anyhow! lol.

I'm giving NaNoWriMo a shot this year....however... um...yeah....I DID write another 300 words today! *Blush*
Yeah yeah yeah...i'm getting there! *Rolleyes*

I'm trying to play catch up since i've been gone for a week or so, and I have some raffles to take care of along with the auction. Sometimes I wonder why I do this to myself? Oh well...keeps me entertained! *Delight*

Hope everyone has a good week!!

Well.... Two more days for R & R, then the pressure is on! lol. I'm really questioning whether I can do 50K in a month.

I've got a general idea in my head of what I will write, but now, can I make it all come together? *Laugh* Geez! I can't believe I let a certain friend talk me into this! *Shock* Oh well...it'll be fun, just to see if I can do it if nothing else!

Who's doing NaNo from WDC? Look me up, username "Sedona".

The fall here has been beautiful! I love all the brilliant colors! Then tuesday came along....woke up to.....SNOW?? It sure was pretty to see all that brilliant color along with a blanket of white. *Delight*

Well...gotta get some things done today, including laundry, so I can get ready for a road trip! Yippppeeeee!!!
Have a great day all!

A very special friend suckered talked me into doing NaNoWriMo this year. Now that I've signed up and committed to do it, I'm wondering....what the hell am I gonna write about????? *Shock*

Oh well... I'm in now...might as well just go for it! *Smile* Competition is good for the soul.

I've been trying to make some plans for Christmas. The rugrats will be out of school from the 20th until the 7th of January. I'm thinking I might take them down to Myrtle Beach for 3 weeks, rent a house there on the beach, and just enjoy the ocean for a while. I'm also contemplating taking them on a Disney Cruise for one of those weeks. We'll see. There is a Ripley's museum in Myrtle Beach that allows you to book like a birthday party there where you literally sleep with the sharks. Now I know Cody and Michaela would love that..well...actually...it's really me that really wants to do that, but the kids are excited about it too. You take your sleeping bags and you sleep in a room surrounded on every side and the top by the aquarium that houses the sharks, the water has lights so you can see the sharks swimming all around you. I think that would be really cool.
okay..I'll admit it...but I don't wanna grow up!!

Hope everyone is having a great week! *Delight*
