This treatise is the result of a visit to church 1-18-09, and a song that became the root for the acrostic Worthy Is The Lamb, on 1-19-09 the second acrostic was gelled into the first.

DAY 1056: October 7, 2015

Prompt: Which do you enjoy more rain or snow? What is your favorite rain or snow memory?

If I enjoyed one over the other I'd have to say I enjoy snow more. Now that's really counter to my natural bent of being cold natured and having to bundle up like the kid on A Christmas Story to endure the cold.

Reason? Well Instead of telling you of my favorite snow day memory, I will tell you the most memorial experience I had on a rainy day while on vacation a few decades ago.

I went to Galveston Island for the first and only time in my life. I had a wonderful time the first day; exploring the downtown area; looking at the architecture and watching an old octopus movie that was as scary as it got at the time.

The next; and as it turned out the last day; of my trip did not go so well. I was still having fun until the sky began to darken, the wind started picking up, and the rain began dropping in small buckets. Mind you I was in the middle of downtown, on the street, and I don't remember if I had a coat on or not since it was summer at the time.

So I think you can imagine what's coming next but for those of you who do not, here goes. I was getting pretty wet so I stood under one of the awesome awnings that overhang the stores in downtown Galveston attempting to wait out the downpour.

Suddenly things got much brighter! I heard a crack of thunder and right above me I smelled the smell of burning material where the lightning struck just above my head! I think I ran a 1 second mile; if you know what I mean; to the bus station and got my bus ticket changed to leaving on that same day.

Now that I think about it from this side of it. I know that the Lord was truly covering me with His protection because that could well have been the day I got fried like an egg on the summer sidewalk of downtown Galveston, Texas.

So I figure it's better to be a walking snowman rather than a crispy critter, and to this day I still have a healthy respect for lightning and it's crackling power.

Thank you Snow for a good prompt to draw this from my memory banks and making it feel a little warmer inside on a cool start to an autumn morning. Bring on the snow or rain, I'll be thankful for either one on this day and keep my head down in either case.
