I think saving some food, having warm blankets and a radio and drinking water, etc. are good ideas. Guns? Not so much. I think there would be hordes of bad people taking advantage if there was a sustained disaster such as a bad depression, civil war, etc. and that would be scary. Lots of places to hide here in Iowa, but I wouldn't want to be in NYC in such an event.
What a difficult time for you and the Fur Patrol. In the being thankful category, you can sure be thankful you have had Furball this long. He has been a blessing in your life.
Also, I hesitate to say, remember quality of life...is he suffering? How much more medical intervention does he want? Are your efforts for you or for him? Questions only you can answer for you and Furball.
Normal, smormal. I've been told my brain is normal, and we all know that's not true at all. So, you never know the new normal may only be hiding something which will pop up and get you later.
They know they can depend on you, but I think it was unfair that first you thought you'd be teaching maybe twenty student and it turned out to be so much more. The pressure was on and then when they changed your presentation on you....well I don't blame you for feeling flustered. From what you said, it appears that she didn't even let you know of the changes until the last minute either.
You did well though and managed it just fine. Good job. I'm not sure I would have handled it so well because for one thing I'd be totally ticked off that she'd change anything that drastically and then expect you to be ready for it.
My husband has often said, if it weren't for stupid people he wouldn't have as many machines to repair. When it comes to computers, somehow, there seem to be more of them out there.
She's a can be a real control freak sometimes but most of the time, she is a great person. She's the Volunteer Coordinator at Rutgers Gardens. Thanks to her, I've made some good friends and gotten involved in some really worthwhile projects. Which is why I didn't kill her. I just complained to everyone who would listen.
There are two major points here on which you and I agree. I have never gone to a gym, have missed out on all that comraderie and EXERCISE...and I turn off the radio before the pres comes on. Can't take hearing his voice.
Hope you find a new gym. Hope the country finds a new president.
Especially some ego-maniac who thinks her way is best. What was she thinking?! She's an idiot in my book. I would clearly have throttled her for you. I am glad for your last paragraph, knowing the audience hung with you helps.
