An attempt at Haiku's each day beginning 2013 |
This is a well-intentioned beginning to what I hope will be a haiku a day, or thereabouts. |
gopher holes appear making swiss cheese of my yard while I spit foul words |
pile of river rock weighing heavy on my mind soon to take a form |
crescent moon dancing with a star-studded partner music of the night |
only thorns remain rosebuds nipped by sneaky deer stolen midnight snacks |
your absence is felt the silence is deafening please be still my heart |
the grass is now brown horned lizards are laying still hoping to get warm |
I only hear tweets coming from a tree outside little happy birds |
The curtains are drawn the room and my heart is dark time to let light in |
familiar faces greeting me from a past life memories relived |
good news warms my heart hot sun heats everything else kitchen's still on time |
Boulevard of dreams a concert line snakes corners good seats are waiting |
Rock and roll music going to Los Angeles no heartbreakers here |
Nature's sweet sounds missed replaced by hammers and saws I prefer crickets |
smoke rose in the sky ashes fell like fishing weights earth’s gravity lures |
stopping on the bridge to hear crickets and bullfrogs night sounds break silence |
feeling the earth move hearing walls creak, glass breaking earthquake unsettles |
Holding my ink pen drawing a sun with no clouds perfection escaped |
hummingbirds fly near hoping for drops of nectar fooled by silk flowers |
disapproving glance from father to family thong underwear hangs |
two nervous quail dart leading the way to safety beady eyes watching |
