THE GIFT OF EXPERIENCE: HOPE PREVAILS

Hope is the reasonable expectation that something good is going to happen. Without hope, our lives seem desolate and empty. Hope has enabled me to overcome extraordinary amounts of adversity. A good friend pointed out that my circumstances were given to me because I am here to help others. If you are reading this then you should know my faith is strong, and it has only been through the grace of God that these experiences have not overwhelmed me. Welcome.

Hey Alexi!

Loved Joyce! She taught me so much truth about the peace and love of God through my journey this far. I remember the story about the Bible studies with shorts and cigarettes.

We all start our greatness somewhere!

I love, love the song "Rattle" by Elevation Worship. It puts the shakedown on the devil when I feel I cannot take another second... "God said Live." Really it's about resurrection power, dry bones coming to life, and faith that you will make it through. "I hear the sound of dry bones rattling..."

Hi Crissy, I hope your holiday was restful and the food nice. I have often listened to Joyce Meyer, years ago, when she first started, I remember she still smoked as she read the word and led the bible studies lol. Over the years she learned the disciplines of the truth and has helped so many.

Failure is the next step to success if we don't give up or faint. You just have to look in the Bible and say for instance David and the trials he went through, but he learned from our God and he passed on the wisdom through the Psalms. Job is another, we must not give up, and just when we think all is lost the answer comes.

Thank you, for sharing today, it has been a learning, we have to listen and act and never give up.

Beautifully written with honesty and compassion for the very real threats black people have to face every day.
I lived in a mixed apartment complex for quite awhile and saw the difference in the way the police approached young black men. It is so real and most white people never see the fear. Working as an RN in a large hospital I was around cops quite a bit. Being in GA, during the 1970's and 1980's there was a lot of prejudice. It seemed to be getting better as we saw more black cops but something is changing in our country. On both sides, people are stressed, drugs are involved and kindness seems to be a weakness. Just my observations. Thanks for the read.

So true, guys. And as the Word says for encouragement on the dark days, summarized, 'know that your fellow believers all over the world are also sharing in Christ's suffering.'
That helps me to know I am not alone in my crisis. He will come around right on time.

The Holy Spirit, our helper comes to help us when we need him and not a second too late. How wonderful; and marvelous our God is, nice also to know that all over the world we have brothers and sisters like you both.

The hope in our hearts, fostered by our faith and growing knowledge of the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit, as we are gradually transformed into complete Christ-likeness, blesses us daily and inspires us to share all we know about God and all we have become so far on our journey of transformation with others, whenever and wherever we are provided opportunities to do so.

As Alexi said, Crissy, this entry in your blog is filled with beautiful words honoring the beauty and joy of hope we all receive when we receive Jesus into our hearts as Lord and Savior, and we become determined to learn more about Him and our Heavenly Father and our Helper, the Holy Spirit, and share the wonderful, exciting things we learn with others, fellow believers and non-believers alike.

How To Handle Failure

“You have to step out to find out,” -Joyce Meyer

This quote means without trying you will never know where, when, or how you will succeed.
If you have what your brain tells you is a great idea, but you dip your toes in the water and get burned, that idea probably was not destiny. I'm not saying there will not be any adversity, because there definitely will be, but if you run into hot spring after hot spring, it may be time to consider another option.

The thing is, it's in those rejections and corrections, and it's in the perseverance and persecution that we truly learn what we are made of inside. It's in how we handle opposition. It's in how we handle failure. It's in how we manage our hope that really matters.

How many times did it take Edison to create the light bulb? How many attempts did Ford make to develop a running vehicle? How much do you believe in yourself? How much do you believe in what you are creating?

In essence, the lessons we learn as a result of failure are extremely valuable because they show us what does not work. Same in a relationship. If we meet someone we like, but they exhibit xyz behavior from the get-go, we will learn with time we should have listened to our hearts. We let them go, and take that knowledge with us through life as something we do not want.

As we make mistakes, we grow in our knowledge of ourselves; equally, as we succeed, we hone in on our talents and learn to harness those assets and train in those areas.

Those Who Don't Know Him

Hope is a salutation to expectancy. It means despite distant past mishaps and future fears we maintain a semblance of faith that everything will be better.

As we are in the most joyful season of the year which, for 2020, is calling us to reach deep within to find that hope, many of us are finding a richer and more rounded and vibrant version of ourselves.

2020 has called us to define ourselves and discover who we were meant to be. The Christmas season is about Jesus, and more specifically, His love.

So, as we move into the last couple of days of this holiday, let's be careful to remember that while a lot of us have the love of Jesus in our hearts, many people do not.

It's important for us to, despite our own hardships, be kind to others. We have to be the hands and feet of Jesus and show unbelievers why they should want to know Him. We must give out hope generously.
