Dream Catcher
Dream Catchers

An ancient Chippewa tradition
The dream net has been made
For many generations
Where spirit dreams have played.

Hung above the cradle board,
Or in the lodge up high,
The dream net catches bad dreams,
While the good dreams slip on by.

Bad dreams become entangled
Among the sinew thread.
Good dreams slip through the center hole,
While you dream upon your bed.

This is an ancient legend,
Since dreams will never cease,
Hang this dream net above your bed,
Dream on, an be at peace.

prompt: Music can often trigger powerful memories. Describe a
memorable experience associated with a particular song or piece of
music.

Please keep in mind this was years ago—but what a fun memory! Just call me wiggle butt. *Laugh* My husband's cousin had a country western band. His name was Mack Owens, his wife Loretta was Bonnie Owen's sister, and could she sing. Anyway, Mack played for dances held all over my county. Mainly good ole fashion barn dances. My husband and I went every weekend and did we have fun! I still remember the fresh smell of hay, the distinct fragrance of horses, cattle, and deep-pit-BBQ. The beer? Well I won't go into that. *Blush* The crawling in at 4 am. (after stopping for breakfast and coffee - hee hee) The band knew I loved the song called "Down on the Corner" by the Creedance Clearwater and played all the time. Well.....being wild and young....I was out there—wiggling. *Laugh*

I had almost forgotten that part of my life, thanks for the smile. *Smile* What I wouldn't give for one more barn dance. *Smile*
