Journal entries of my life as a writer.
This is a journal of my writing life since I joined the Writing.com community of writers. This is such a different place for me, I think it's a good idea to document my new writing adventures.

Tell me about a personal experience with violence, either one you have experienced personally or one you witnessed (or even choose a violent scene you watched on television or film that affected you). Can violence ever play an effective role in problem solving?

I wasn't going to respond to this prompt, but then I changed my mind. I was nicknamed Tae Quan Do Kitty by my stalkers years ago because of the way I fought off my attackers in the night over the years. I long to be rid of my stalkers. They have caused too much harm. I shut out most of the memories, yet they can be brought to the surface. My stalkers think self defense is illegal. They think I'm the criminal for fighting them. My stalkers are lower intelligence, lower education and insane. Reasoning with them only has so much affect. I am left with self defense of different kinds. I do my best to get to the root of the problem to fix this disaster. I have no choice but to do what I can. I understand the problem better than others.

As far as violence being effectivr in problem solving. When nothing else works, we go to war. War is very violent with many casualties, civilian and military. Law enforcement frequently resorts to violence whenever they see fit. Should violence be used on the playground? Let's try to cut that down to zero. We try to teach diplomacy first and only the trained should be using violence, when possible. Does it solve problems? Sometimes violence does solve problems. I hope to find other ways to solve problems.

What is/was your favorite TV show?

I like The Good Wife. I think it is a very well done drama with all kinds of twists and turns. The actors/actresses do a fine job. I can feel the intensity as I watch the show. I like the law shows and I also dearly loved The West Wing and another favorite is about a family of witches set in San Francisco called Charmed. That was good fun.

Springtime fever...

Springtime Fever

Ah, springtime
The lovely colors do emerge
People are out and about
The rains they do come

Newness is the theme
New birth
New mirth
New love

Springtime is unique
No other season has the same affect
Wild times are had in spring
Spring is when we frolic

June 2 Blogging Prompt for "Blog City ~ Every Blogger's Paradise

What are you hoping to accomplish this summer?

Of course I want to get more educational materials to be ready to use on my edicational website. https://www.edonyourown.com It would be nice for people to have them for the fall.

My other task seems to be figuring out the puzzle of what is going on with this man who says he wants to move to be with me. I had middle of the night emails back and forth with him last night and I wonder if the current issue is going to keep him from being with me. I'll reserve judgement until I hear more from him, but he doesn't seem to grasp what I am and am not willing to do. I explained my reasons for refusing to do what he asked me to do. He just seemed to think I would do as he asked without question. That might be the case for some things, but not the complex dealings he wanted. Perhaps he didn't understand the implications and potential for disaster in his request. His request could have lined me up for more victimization and as a stalking victim I have an eye out for things that sound fishy.

So at this point I'm wondering if this will be too much for the relationship to bear, since he thought for sure I would do as he asked and he's quite upset. He says there's a third party telling him the information he needs from me. So that is his loophole. At one point it felt like a confidence scheme. So this is a difficulty that does raise big enough red flags for me to know to be warry. If he's being duped, that's a different red flag. I was hoping for a way to get my life back on track, but this might be a dead end option and last night let me know to plan for an exit just in case. This is how I live my life anyway. So there isn't much of a change here. I'm just very sad and I wonder what else will happen.

In June wedding bells ring, roses bloom, and drivers seem to go nuts. Pick one or all of those items and write a story or poem about it.

June Thoughts

Wedding bells are a ringing
Brides are walking down the aisles
Honeymoons are beginning
Newlyweds are in full force

Roses are blooming
They celebrate love
They celebrate life
Roses make good gifts for brides to be

Crazy drivers are in the way
They think they own the roads
Could they be the teenagers let out from school?
Could they be the wedding parties and guests?

Watch out for June
You could catch the wedding bug
You can get distracted by the roses
Is your mind wandering while you're driving?

Unwritten rules for blogging...

I believe bloggers should write what they believe. There are views presented in blogs that can spark comments and that's a good thing. It's also good to include examples in support of views when they make sense.

I believe bloggers should also be honest in their memories that are shared. It might be important to sidestep outright slurs and mudslinging. There are certain rules of etiquette that apply to public conversations and blogs fall into the written public conversations category.

I think bloggers should be bold and adventurous by tackling areas other writers might not visit. There are certain things that can be handled more directly in a blog post than in other forms of writing.

I also think bloggers should have fun. Blogging has a free form feel to it and can be seen as a way to release emotions and throw in some humor.

Fortune. What is your good fortune?

I am fortunate to be as peppy as I am. I am fortunate to have a bed to sleep in, food on the table and a roof over my head. I am fortunate to be a part of Writing.com. I am fortunate to have my skills, experience and education. I am fortunate to have a way to help education while not being a teacher. I am fortunate there are people who care about me.

I feel special in this world. I feel like I have an important role to play in this life. I am fortunate to even be alive. So I will do what I can to keep reminding this world that I am still alive and kicking up the dust. I am a very fortunate petson indeed.

June 1 Blogging Prompt for "Blogging Circle of Friends

Best Friends. Tell us about yours.

I have had struggles with best friends turning on me in the past, so one day I decided I no longer believed in best friends. Ever since that day I've been left to be my own best friend. I am my own cheerleader. I find ways to cheer myself up and enjoy the good times. I look for ways to improve my life at every turn. I even get more education for myself and try new things. I enjoy going to the movies by myself and going out to eat by myself. I decided years ago that being alone didn't have to mean not doing things I used to do with others.

Now I have a man telling me he wants to be my best friend. I'll just have to wait and see how that turns out. Sounding good and actually being good are two different things. I know this sounds negative, but I've been let down so many times by so many people, it's just difficult. I can hope for the best. He is trying hard to let me know it will work. I'll keep my fingers crossed.

Dare Day - Explain a dare you once took or enter a WDC challenge.

I dared myself to host a contest. So I hosted a hasty and last minute April Fool's Day Contest. It was fun for my first contest. So I decided I wanted to continue hosting contests. So I came up with the daily writing prompt weekly contest. I've had people enter the contest every week it has been up, so I've declared it a success. Come join the fun and take a look at the writing prompts.

*Teapot* I just realized I didn't blog anything today. I just didn't feel up to doing much. I almost forgot about my weekly contest, too. I thought it was still Friday. Then I double checked. I still have to pick a winner, but I managed to get the new prompts posted. So now I need another break. This hasn't been a very well week for me. I need to start feeling better.

May 30 Blogging Prompt for "30-Day Blogging Challenge ON HIATUS

You wake up one day to find this message written on a piece of paper: "Celebrate mini success! Celebrate it in two days. No more. No less." What mini success are you going to celebrate and how?

I'm going to celebrate learning how to write an Android app and I will celebrate by advertising it. Now all I need to do is make one worth posting in the marketplace. So far I'm still struggling to learn the programming environment. Wish me good luck.

Are you good at memorizing things?

No. I'm not good at memorizing things. I have to associate things to have any hope of memorizing anything, especially names. I can handle concepts very well and if I manage to memorize something I can usually make it stick in long term memory. It's just a matter of getting it past that short term memory blockage.

What does "Over the Rainbow" mean to you? What do you think you would find there?

I think over the rainbow is falling in love and happily ever after is on the other side. So how often do people get to the other side of the rainbow? Not very often. So we live happily as possible ever after, knowing nothing is perfect.

Have you ever been in a natural disaster? Tell us about it. If not, tell us about someone else's storm story that fascinates you.

I was in several earthquakes in California. The one that was the most dramatic for me was in the San Francisco Bay Area when part of the Bay Bridge collapsed and the radio stations were all down, except for one who didn't understand how bad things were.

I was in my car and I pulled over because I thought there was something wrong with the car. Then I saw the trees swaying so I knew it was an earthquake. I waited for it to be over and then continued driving to school. I saw one of the radio towers bent down to the ground.

By the time I made it to the college, it was all closed down. I called my family from a pay phone and called my husband to let him know I was coming home early. He said a few things fell over at home, but it was okay. I don't want another car without a radio and I think ham radios and cell phones are important.

Free prompt... I'm gliding through life with long naps to fight off not feeling well. I'm also thinking about a future with a man who is very much in love with me. I think I'm starting to get over the shock that he's changing his whole life to be with me. He feels we are meant to be together, so he's going to make that happen. He's telling people he found his new bride. He's writing me love letters in email and telling me about his hopes and dreams for us. Ot's starting to feel real. I'll just have to wait to see if he really does make it over to me. He certainly sounds like he will do it.

Magic: Exists or not?

I have always felt love is magic because it can change people and lives so much. It feels magical. It can even feel like a miracle.

Someone told me they thought Writing.com was magic because she could think of no other explanation for how it works.

I have read fantasy novels that explain magic and show people living in magical worlds. It all seems plausible that there must be some of these people so people actually know about its existence.

Things have happened in my life that defy any other explanation but magic. That's how the unexplained can be explained. It's just how it's done. I believe magic does exist. It just fits the situation quite well. Yes, I believe I have witnessed magic.
