Life is like a box of chocolates a dance floor!
Sometimes you're in the spotlight, sometimes you're not. Sometimes you know the steps and sometimes you feel way out of place. Sometimes you are a graceful ballerina, sometimes people are careless and they knock you down.
In the end, we're all just looking for that grand finish.

It must feel a little sad, and indeed frustrating, not to feel you own your name.
I can empathise. I was married 25 years ago now and the marriage lasted 8 years. We have 2 beautiful children together so I chose to retain my married surname as I didn't want my children growing up and being confused as to why my name was different to theirs. Divorce is enough to contend with.
Anyway, 25 years and 2 grown up children later, I still have my married name. It doesn't reflect who I am, other than a mother. It doesn't reflect my creativity etc. that's for sure.
Consequently, I would publish under a pseudonym because I would want the work to be my mine.
I will take a name from my family past, I think.
A very interesting blog entry! I have never travelled in an airplane so never encountered anything like that. As for the most embarrassing thing happening to you, it made me ==> Sorry!
Wow... that is a crazy plane-convo. I wonder how often a scam like that would work. I mean, adults have the money, and most adults aren't naive enough to fall for that nonsense. Opportunistic fool.
