Yesterday, I got some unsettling news. I found out that a long time staff member at work was going into semi-retirement and it was going to be her last day. I also found out that we lost a job contract. The company who provided this job decided to go to another company because it offered more money. I really enjoyed working on this job, now it is gone. I woke up ill today. My boyfriend called me early because he's going to see "King Kong" tonight. There was another terrorist attack, this time in London, England. Four individuals are confirmed dead, 20 injured. |
| Didn't go to work today. Woke up with a sore throat. In the past, it would've bothered me, but now that the work program is ending in less than four weeks, I not too worried about missing work. Don't get me wrong, I enjoy my 11 years at Stride. I just don't feel as anxious of missing work now that it's coming to an end. |
| Went shopping earlier today. Bought lunch at McDonald's. Just going to relax for the rest of the day. |
| It just wasn't my day. I got up and took a much needed shower. The water overflowed and went partially on the kitchen floor. I took what I thought was a towel and use it to soak up the water on the floor. It turned out to be my sister's t-shirt. 😖 |
| On Monday, I did 182 adapters. On Tuesday, I went to the dentist. Yesterday, I relaxed. Today, I got some information about this new Stride program. It was just as I thought. It is not going to be a job placement program. I tried to tell my worker that a year ago, but she was convinced that Stride had a plan in place. Apparently, I'm not alone. Other workers are telling their clients the same thing. What bothers me is Stride is going to help some of us, but not all. One lady that I've worked with for 11 years was told to retire. Unbelievable. |
| Was hoping to go to church today, but I woke up too early this morning and couldn't get back to sleep. I just sat around and watched a hockey game today. |
| I've had a quite a day. My boyfriend and his mother picked me up. We went to the Pita Pit for lunch. We then went to Dairy Queen for an ice cream treat. We went to Dollarama to pick up some Hallowe'en decorations for the Hallowe'en party at my boyfriends place on October 31. Then my boyfriend and his mom dropped me off. |
| I got 180 adapters done today. My boyfriend is not too confident that our phone is fixed. Tonight, I'm sitting back and watching the Leaf game. |
| We finally got the phone fixed. The workers came over today and fixed the problem. I will phone my boyfriend as soon as I'm done working on the computer. I went shopping today. Had McDonald's for lunch. It is the last day of my five day holiday. back to work tomorrow. |
| Well, the phone company has to dig up the highway in front of our house to fix the problem. I think were experiencing Indian Summer today. I went to the mailbox to pick up the mail and it was humid outside. |
| My boyfriend can't get enough of me. We went out for lunch earlier today. Then, as I was writing an article, he showed up again to take me to Tim Horton's. Bell Canada just show up to fix our phone. I guess my sister and I aren't suppose to have a peaceful Thanksgiving. HAPPY THANKSGIVING TO THOSE IN CANADA!!! |
