Well, it was quite a week in the Premier League. Manchester United was the main topic of discussion among media and fans. After United lost 3-2 to Brighton on Sunday, (Aug. 19), football insiders were quick to criticize the team. Former Liverpool player, Danny Murphy, predicted that Man. U's manager, Jose Mourinho, is not going to last the rest of the season. (read Aug 20 article - "Man. U's Manager's Job Is On The Line"). As the week went on, there was more mud slinging about the team and the players. The latest, the fans plan to fly a banner at this week's game against Burnley, showing their dismay over Ed Woodward and the team's ownership. Now to more positive news. Well, to me that is. My team Chelsea is 2-0 after defeating Arsenal 3-2 on Saturday (Aug 18). I have to say, though, Chelsea was lucky to win the match. The team allowed Arsenal to bounce back from a 2-0 deficit. Chelsea plays Newcastle United this week. Manchester City are on a roll. City hammered newly promoted Huddersfield Town 6-1. Huddersfield are now 0-2 and is dead last in the Premier Division. Good news for France's PSG. Despite not being in the starting line up, Kylian Mbappe scored his first two goals of the new season off the bench against Guingamp. Finally this week, Germany's Bundesliga opens there season this weekend. |
Yarmolenko Possibly Out Six Months October 25, 2018 at 6:49pm Bad news for West Ham United.
In a English Premier League match against Tottenham on the weekend, winger Andriy Yarmolenko suffered an achilles injury.
Yarmolenko is possibly going to be out for six months.
Manchester City defeated Burnley 5-0 and take top spot in the Premier League tAable.
In Serie A, Juventus's winning streak ended as the team played to a draw against Genoa.
Cristiano Ronaldo scored the lone goal for Juventus.

There was, however, two big stories involving Liverpool.
Two of Liverpool's star players were injured playing for their country last week.
First, Egyptian superstar, Mohamed Salah, suffered a muscle injury.
Then, Sadio Mane suffered a minor hand injury.
No word on Salah's status, but Mane had to have surgery and won't play this weekend.

Monaco has just won a single game this season.
Jardim has been manager of the team for four years.
Chelsea fans got some unsettling news this week.
Word got out that Chelsea's star player, Eden Hazard, is planning to go to Spain to play for Real Madrid.
Speculation indicated that Hazard was going to go in January.
This morning, however, it was reported that Hazard wa... [Read more] West Ham Defeats Man. U. Cech Out For Three To Four Weeks October 4, 2018 at 4:13pm Just a few weeks ago, West Ham United was the laughing stalk of the Premier League, at the bottom of the standings and with zero points.
Since then, West Ham has won two and has played to a draw.
On Saturday (Sept. 29), West Ham defeated Manchester United 3-1.
As for Manchester United, they're off to their worse start in 29 years with this loss.
The game of the week has to go to Chelsea verses Liverpool.
The teams played to a 1-1 draw in probably the best match of the year.
