Well, it was quite a week in the Premier League. Manchester United was the main topic of discussion among media and fans. After United lost 3-2 to Brighton on Sunday, (Aug. 19), football insiders were quick to criticize the team. Former Liverpool player, Danny Murphy, predicted that Man. U's manager, Jose Mourinho, is not going to last the rest of the season. (read Aug 20 article - "Man. U's Manager's Job Is On The Line"). As the week went on, there was more mud slinging about the team and the players. The latest, the fans plan to fly a banner at this week's game against Burnley, showing their dismay over Ed Woodward and the team's ownership. Now to more positive news. Well, to me that is. My team Chelsea is 2-0 after defeating Arsenal 3-2 on Saturday (Aug 18). I have to say, though, Chelsea was lucky to win the match. The team allowed Arsenal to bounce back from a 2-0 deficit. Chelsea plays Newcastle United this week. Manchester City are on a roll. City hammered newly promoted Huddersfield Town 6-1. Huddersfield are now 0-2 and is dead last in the Premier Division. Good news for France's PSG. Despite not being in the starting line up, Kylian Mbappe scored his first two goals of the new season off the bench against Guingamp. Finally this week, Germany's Bundesliga opens there season this weekend. |

It was an exciting week in football.
Match Day two of the UEFA Champions League was this week.
UEFA Champions League
Lionel Messi scored his first goal with his new team as PSG defeated Manchester City 2-0.
Juventus defeated Chelsea 1-0.
English Premier League
Arsenal seems as if they're back in form as the team defeated Tottenham in the North London Derby 3-1.
It is Arsenal's third league win in a row.

It was another busy week on the pitch, but first, the headlines.

Leicester City and Napoli played to a 2-2 draw last Thursday.
Bundesliga
Bayern Munich hammered newly promoted Bochum 7-0.
Hertha defeated Furth 2-1.
Dortmund defeated Union Berlin 4-2.

Barcelona's Pedri and Alba have both suffered a muscle injury to their thighs. No word on how long the two players are out for.

Barcelona looked as if the team was out to lunch against Bayern Munich.
Bayern defeated Barcelona without a problem 3-0.
Liverpool defeated AC Milan in an exciting match 3-2.

Juventus Academy player, Bryan Dodien has passed away from cancer at age 17.
Mario Mandzukic has retired at 35.
