| The Teacher asked her young students to get their parents to tell them a story with a moral at the end of it. The next day, the kids came back and one by one, began to tell their stories. There were all the regular types of stuff.But then the teacher realised that only Janie was left. "Janie, do you have a story to share ?' ''Yes madam......My daddy told me a story about my Mom.She was a Marine pilot in Operation Desert Storm in Iraq and her plane got hit. She had to bail out over enemy territory and all she had was a flask of whiskey, a pistol and a survival knife. She drank the whiskey on the way down so the bottle wouldn't break and then her parachute landed her right in the middle of 20 Iraqi troops. She shot 15 of them with the pistol, until she ran out of bullets, killed four more with the knife, till the blade broke and then she killed the last Iraqi with her bare hands. . Pin drop silence in the class !! . ''Good Heavens,' said the horrified teacher. 'What did your Daddy tell you was the moral to this horrible story ? "Stay away from Mommy when she's drunk......!!!!" |
| On a routine police patrol parked outside a local neighborhood bar the officer noticed a man leaving the bar so intoxicated that he could barely walk. The man stumbled around the parking lot for a few minutes with the officer quietly observing. After what seemed an eternity and trying his keys on five different vehicles, the man managed to find his own car which he fell into. He was there for a few minutes as a number of other patrons left the bar and drove off. Finally he started the car, switched the wipers on and off (it was a dry night), flicked the hazard flasher on and off, tooted the horn, and then switched on the lights. He moved the vehicle forward a few inches, reversed a little, and then remained stationary for a few more minutes as more patrons left in their vehicles. At last ( when almost everyone had left) he pulled out of the parking lot & started to drive slowly down the street. The police officer, having patiently waited all this time, now started up his patrol car, put on the flashing lights, promptly pulled the man over and carried out a breath analyser test. To his amazement, the breathalyzer indicated no evidence of the man having consumed alcohol at all! Dumbfounded, the officer said, "I'll have to ask you to accompany me to the Police Station. This breathalyzer equipment must be broken.""I doubt it," said the man, "Tonight, I'm the designated decoy. They all got away!"😂😂😜😜😎😎🍻🍻 |
| *_The 2014 general election marked the beginning of the end of India’s ruling elite. The election whose results came last week marked the end_*. *_As someone born and bred in this group of privileged Indians, I speak as an insider_*. *So believe me when I tell you that we controlled everything*. *_"Politics, government, business, foreign policy, the police, the military and the media"_*. All this was possible because we were to some degree all courtiers in the court of the Nehru-Gandhi dynasty since the British left. *_We knew that their ‘socialism’ and ‘secularism’ were as fake as their ‘idea of India’._* *We knew long ago that this was an idea of India in which it was only Indians who spoke English well who could hope to do well*. *_English is not a language in India. It is a definition of class_*. After the Raj ended, it was only Indians who spoke English well who went up in life. It was they who rose high in the ranks of the police and the military. In the Lok Sabha, as the roots of democracy deepened, appeared long ago people who spoke Indian languages well and English badly. They were tolerated in a sneery sort of way. Then someone came up with the brilliant idea of ensuring that *_Parliament became a private club by making the democratic process ```dynastic``` ._* It took this election campaign for ordinary Indians to notice what was going on. They noticed because *_Modi told voters that they were choosing between a ‘kaamdaar’ and a ‘naamdaar’._* A working man and a prince. It did not help that the ‘naamdaar’ then mocked Modi and made fun of everything about him. Modi’s ‘hugplomacy’, ‘Gabbar Singh Tax’, demonetisation. Modi’s demonetisation, he said, was done to steal their money and give it to his rich friends. The country’s Chowkidar, he said too many times, was a ‘chor’. He forgot that he was demeaning not just a political opponent but the Prime Minister of India. Ordinary voters were appalled that the heir to India’s most powerful political dynasty would talk this way. He sounded arrogant, entitled and insulting and reminded them that there were too many political heirs in Indian politics. *If many "naamdhar" political heirs have been voted out across India in this election, it is no accident*. When the results came last week, my fellow members of what the Prime Minister calls the Khan Market gang were devastated. They had seen this election as their last chance to oust the chaiwallah. They were certain that the campaign to paint Modi as a Hindutva monster had succeeded. They had hoped that the campaign to defile him as a totalitarian leader with no respect for democratic institutions had succeeded. They had hoped that the campaign to show him up as someone who wrecked the economy had succeeded. They had hoped that their campaign to reinvent Rahul Gandhi as a decent, worthy heir to the Dynasty had succeeded. *Notice that in the English language media he and his sister made headlines and cover stories throughout the campaign*. The past five years have been difficult for India’s ruling elite. *_High officials, famous writers, editors of English newspapers, celebrated TV anchors, heirs of political dynasties, leftists and liberals have found their importance diminish by the day._* They have been replaced by people they once dismissed as ‘vernacs’, the word they use derisively for Indians who speak only in the vernacular. If ‘liberal’ journalists are astoundingly illiberal in their assessments of Modi it is because they have suffered badly since th regime change in 2014. Where they once had privileged access to the men and women who rule India, they are now relegated to unseen TV channels while Hindi journalists get all the interviews and all the glory. *_It might seem to you a small change. It is not_*. It is a sign that India’s traditional ruling elite is being swept slowly but surely into the dustbin of history along with the Dynasty they have supported through bad times and good. Not even when Indira Gandhi made herself into a Dictator and used the Emergency as a cover to hand the Congress party to her son did they protest. Not even when she insisted that judges of the Supreme Court swear oaths of loyalty to her did they protest. *That was the only time, since India gained Independence, that the institutions of democracy were crushed and maimed, but the traditional ruling elite said nothing.* If they have spent the past five years targeting Modi, often wrongly, for what they perceive as attempts to crush democracy, it is possibly because they know how easily this can be done. The truth is that the traditional ruling elite believes in an idea of India in which there are privileges and not rights. *This was always a bad idea. Now it is dead.* ```This change will have cascading effect in Indian polity in the next few years``` |
| I think this message is very beautiful, very true .... ! Hardly the day started and ... it is already six o'clock in the evening. Barely arrived on Monday and it's already Friday. ... and the month is already over. ... and the year is almost up. ... and already 40, 50 or 60 years of our lives have passed. ... and we realize that we lost our parents, friends. and we realize that it is too late to go back ... So ... Let's try, however, to take full advantage of the time we have left ... Let's not stop looking for activities that we like ... Let's put color in our greyness ... Let's smile at the little things in life that put balm in our hearts. And yet, we must continue to enjoy serenely the time that remains. Let's try to eliminate the "after" ... I do it after ... I will say after ... I will think about it after ... We leave everything for later as if "after" was ours. Because what we do not understand is that: after, the coffee cools ... after, priorities change ... after, the charm is broken ... after, health passes ... after, the children grow up ... after, the parents get older ... after, the promises are forgotten ... after, the day becomes the night ... after, life ends ... And after that it's often too late .... So ... leave nothing for later ... Because always waiting for later, we can lose the best moments, the best experiences, the best friends, the best family ... The day is today ... The moment is now ... We are no longer at the age where we can afford to postpone until tomorrow what needs to be done right away. |

Everyone appears to be mad after one thing or another: some after money, some after beauty, some after music, others after their children, and so forth — nobody is really quite balanced. Q- What then is the remedy? Ma- Just as one does not water the leaves of a tree but its roots, so one has to grapple with man’s disease at its root. Man’s root lies in the brain. Therefore the remedy for all ills is to still the mind. When man’s mind has been stilled, all will be well with him, both physically and psychologically. Q- How does the mind become still? Ma- By treading the path that leads to the realization of “Who am I?” Your body that was young and is old now with its greying hair does not last forever. It is not the real ‘I’. Therefore man has to find out who he really is. When he tries to do this, his mind will be supplied with the right nourishment that will calm it. The right sustenance for the mind cannot be had from anything that is of this world and therefore perishable, but solely from that which is Eternal. The taste of the eternal will still the mind. The universe was created out of joy and this is why you find joy in the things of this world. Without joy life is an ordeal. You must try to attain to that great joy which has brought forth the world. Q- What is the special contribution a woman has to make as apart from a man? Ma- A woman is essentially a mother and consequently her duty is to serve everyone. Further since she is daughter, wife, mother all in one, to recognise the oneness of the three. Besides, in every woman is contained a man and in every man a woman. If man were not contained within you, you would not be able to recognise a man; and if woman were not contained in a man, he would be unable to recognise a woman. Thus one of the most important tasks of a woman is to discover the man in herself. Q- What then is the special contribution a man can give? Ma- Man is the reflection of the Supreme Purusha the one who upholds the universe. True manliness means divinity. But then there is Atma which is beyond man and woman. Everyone has to find that Atma that lies hidden within himself. It is the task of every human being to unfold both the man and woman potentially contained within him or herself and to realise the Atma which is beyond man and woman. |
| We don’t live in bungalows, duplexes or flats. We live in our minds. Yes, that’s our permanent residence. And there are no constraints of square-feet there. It’s a vast space with unlimited area. And you know what! No matter how well-organized our rooms, balconies, garages and verandas are, life is good only when things are sorted there – in our mind. And that’s where we keep things messy – regrets piling up in one corner, expectations stuffed in a closet, secrets under the carpet, worries littered everywhere, comparisons spilt on the table, complexes leaking from an old bottle, and grudges stinking in a box. This ‘real home’ of ours , we can’t outsource housekeeping. We got to do it yourself. |
| - Business school teach us that "Management and Ownership" are two distinct things. BJP followed it to the T!! While Modi concentrated on running the Govt, Shah ran the party...results are for everyone to see. - A skilled & capable heir can nurture and grow an organisation & an incompetent one can destroy a legacied organisation. - An organisation need to remain current. A great strategy of yesterday may be redundant today. Cong still indulging in politics of 60s and 70s and hence they have failed. - Strategic tie up for larger organisation benefit/growth is desirable. Eg, BJP agreed to contest only 17 seats in Bihar where they had won 22 seats in 2014. Result - 39/40 for NDA. - When u become a market leader in a region/zone with brutal market share, exploring newer market is the natural thing to do to grow the business further. BJP did that in Bengal, Odisha & Telangana while simultaneously defending their key markets like UP, Bihar, MP, Rajasthan etc. - Conduct/Image of the organisation head does impact/influence the image and fate of the organisation. BJP & Congress's fate in the elections 2019 is a clear indicator of that. - Substance matters more than legacy and performance matters more than glory. - If you have a strong market share in a limited region, it is important to defend that. You may lose your core in your pursuit to expand the market beyond your own. market. It may also open your market for poaching by others. All regional parties must remember this. - Ambition without vision and unclear path to implement your vision is utterly useless. Kejriwal, Kanhaiya, Mayawati and Mamta kinds must have learnt this. - If your product is not good, no amount of marketing manipulation can keep it going for long...failure of award waapsi, tukde-tukde, intolerance gang etc is a clear indication. - Unsubstantiated allegation, even if made at a high pitch dont influence the market. Rafale, Chowkidaar Chor hai etc are couple of such failed instances. - I remember the tagline "Nothing official about it" by Pepsi becoming a rage in 1996 after Coca Cola became the official partner with Indian Cricket team. That was smart. "Main bhi Chowkidaar" was perhaps a smarter retort to "Chowkidaar Chor Hai" jibe by Rahul Gandhi! - Finally, a good reliable product with minor flaws is far better than a good-looking but unreliable product. People apathy towards _China ka maal_ while buying something critical is a classic example. This should tell u why people elected Modi and rejected Rahul Gandhi. - Marketing is effective and can possibly bear good result only if the product is good. Modi proved it. 😀😀😀 |
| A King had 10 wild dogs. He used them to torture & kill any minister that misguided him. A Minister once gave an opinion which was wrong which the king didn’t like at all… So he ordered that the Minister to be thrown to the dogs. The Minister said, "I served you loyally for 10 years & you do this..?" The King was unrelenting. Minister pleaded, "Please give me 10 days before you throw me to the dogs". The King agreed. In those 10 days, the Minister went to the keeper of the dogs & told him he wanted to serve the dogs for the next 10 days… The Guard was baffled… But he agreed. So the minister started feeding the dogs, caring for them, washing them, providing all sorts of comfort for them. So when the 10 days were up… The King ordered that the minister be thrown to the dogs as sentenced. When he was thrown in, everyone was amazed at what they saw... The dogs were wagging their tails playing with the condemned minister... licking his feet. The King was baffled at what he saw, "What happened to the dogs?” He growled. The Minister then said, "I served the dogs for only 10 days & they didn’t forget my service... I served you for 10 years & you forgot all at the first mistake”… The King realised his mistake and Replaced the dogs with crocodiles 🐊!! Moral : When Management has decided to take action there is no deviations... That's Final... 😁 |
| Trey Gowdy , South Carolina Congressman, recently responded to a reporter about the military in response to a question from a CNN reporter about the DoD ban of transgenders from joining the U.S. armed forces. As Trey typically does so very well, he nailed it rather succinctly. Question: How can President Trump claim to represent all U.S citizens, regardless of sexual orientation, when he banned transgenders from joining the military? Isn't that discrimination? Trey Gowdy's Response: " Nobody has a right to serve in the Military. Nobody! What makes you people think the Military is an equal opportunity employer? It is very far from it - and for good reasons - let me cite a few." "The Military uses prejudice regularly and consistently to deny citizens from joining for being too old or too young, too fat or too skinny, too tall or too short. Citizens are denied for having flat feet, or for missing or additional fingers." he went on to explain: "By the way, poor eyesight will disqualify you, as well as bad teeth. Malnourished? Drug addiction? Bad back? Criminal history? Low IQ? Anxiety? Phobias? Hearing damage? Six arms? Hear voices in your head? Self-identification as a Unicorn? Need a special access ramp for your wheelchair?" "Can't run the required course in the required time? Can't do the required number of push-ups? "Before telling me anything I'd like you to pass a little test. It's called the Triple Filter Test." "Triple filter?" "That's right," Chanakya continued. "Before you talk to me about my friend, it might be a good idea to take a moment and filter what you're going to say. That's why I call it the triple filter test. The first filter is Truth. Have you made absolutely sure that what you are about to tell me is true?" "No," the man said, "actually I just heard about it and..." "All right," said Chanakya. "So you don't know if it's true or not. Now let's try the second filter, the filter of Goodness. Is what you are about to tell me about my friend something good?" "No, on the contrary..." "So," Chankaya continued, "you want to tell me something bad about him, but you're not certain it's true. You may still pass the test though, because there's one filter left, the filter of Usefulness. Is what you want to tell me about my friend going to be useful to me?" "No, not really." "Well," concluded chankaya, "if what you want to tell me is neither true nor good nor even useful, why tell it to me at all?" Use this triple filter each time you hear loose talk about any of your near and dear ones. Something really useful to stay on friendships so long It is worth applying in everyone's life. |
